Have you ever dreamt of the perfect guy with sandy blonde hair, rosy pink lips, blue eyes the shade of the sky and is good in every sport on the planet?
I have...
Countless times.
My perfect guy goes by the name of Jules Hain and as you may have guessed, yes, he is the most popular guy at school. It's not like I'm trying to be cliche or anything but, there is a reason why he is the most popular guy at school. And I don't understand why Kealy has a strong dislike to him, but at least she's not stopping me from talking to him. Not that it matters though, I always run away whenever I get the chance to talk to him and it is all kinds of annoying.
"Keels!" Ava says snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yes?" I reply staring back at her over our table.
"You're thinking about Jules again, aren't you?" She states more than asks.
"Not exactly. I was trying to think of reasons why you don't like Jules"
"Cause I want to be that girl who doesn't drool over the most popular boy in the school and besides it doesn't matter"
She zips open her backpack and brings out her phone to call Asher to come pick us up from the library where we just finished working on our English assignment. The Asher, who is extremely quiet and extremely annoying! And I wonder how those two personalities even mix, it's just not possible yet he is living proof that it can happen.
"Ugh!" I blow out in a sigh of disgust.
Ava just smiles and chuckles while waiting for him to answer the phone. Once he picks up they start talking and I decide to wander the bookshelves so that if he asks of me, she doesn't have to lie saying I'm not there because I won't actually be there. As I walk through the science fiction aisle, my fingers skimming across the spine of the books, I imagine myself one day hitting Asher over the head with a frying pan. Even though I have done it before, it still would be nice to do it again. Or maybe I could me more creative and shove him in their big industrial sized free-
My arm hits something solid abruptly and I lose balance and start falling but then a hand goes round my waist and steadies me. I start to mumble an apology and a thank you when I look up and come face to face with Jules himself with a faint smirk on his face. His arm is still around me and I quickly shove it away before detaching myself from him only to just stand there staring like a deranged fool.
"Does your hand always glow that blue in the sunlight?" He asks and I'm momentarily confused.
I glance down at my hand and true enough, there where streaks of blue that swirled into patterns and only seemed to glow in the sunlight but it could just probably be paint. Rather than answering, I just dash out of the place before I could say something and humiliate myself the more. As I run, I bump into something again which sends me spiraling down and landing on my butt. What's up with me and bumping into things? I look up to see Asher standing in front of me with a blank expression on his face that could make the undertaker shudder......or maybe it's just me, but it could only mean two things either something was wrong with Ava or something bad is about to happen.
"What hap-"
Before I could finish my question he pulls me off the floor by my hand and sends a look in the direction of where I'd just come running from. I try to pull my arm free but he just holds on tighter and proceeds to drag me out of the library. I try smacking his arm but we all know that's never going to work. The guy literally owns six pounds of muscle! Okay I know that's not true but he is seriously strong. I'm suprised my wrist hasn't dislocated yet from how hard he's gripping my arm. He opens the car door and practically flings me inside the car then slams the door shut.
I look to Ava to tell her to inform her brother that I'm not a doll but she's already rattling questions about who I was talking to but then stops when she notices the back of my palm and the words freeze in her throat. She taps her brother who seems to be preoccupied busy staring at the entrance of the library. He finally turns to look at me and his eyes widen substantially then a look of worry crosses his features then they harden totally, shielding me from his true feelings. Next thing I know, we're driving out the parking lot and zooming away but not before I catch a glimpse of Jules on a phone call standing at the entrance of the library.
......................................
"What is going on?!"
Once we got home, Ava and Asher locked me in my room and have refused to let me out, opening the door only once when I complained that I was hungry. They've been talking on the phone to God knows who and decided that the best way to keep me out of the conversation was to keep me in my room
Permanently!
With a loud grunt, I fall down on my bed face first and scream into the soft material of my duvet. The one thing I really hate is being kept in the dark. Ava and Asher know this so why would they still keep me in the dark about whatever the hell is happening?! I let out another drustrated scream before standing up from my bed. I walk to the door and start pounding on it again with my fist.
This has been my routine since we got home and they imprisoned me in my room. I'd pang on the door for them to let me out, then I fall on my bed to think and scream then I'd go back to banging on the doir again. I swear if they don't ket me out soon, not only will I go crazy but the house would be loosing a few doors and Asher a few balls.
I know, I know.
I'm being partial about not going after Ava's hair too but it just won't fell right.
I'm a good friend.
I know.
After another excrutiating hour, they finelly open the door and let me out but I don't move from my comfortable position on my bed. They both look at me weirdly and I don't blame them. I was threatening to chop off Asher's balls a minute ago.
"Come on Keels, let's go watch a movie." Ava says, trying to get me to budge but I just reply with a blank stare.
"Keeley, let's not make this a bigger deal than it already is." Asher says but again I reply with silence.
Asher lets out a huff and then walks up to me. As expected, he picks me up in his arms and carries me downstairs. I don't try to fight or even kick and Ava gives me a worried look. Ha! After locking me up in my room for three hours, it's now they're worried.
"I think she's cracked." Ava says as Asher drops me on the couch.
I make no attempt to move and stare blankly at the black tv screen. Asher shrugs and runs a hand through his hair. A small smile appears in his face as he looks at me.
"At least the world will be more peaceful now."
