The first week of school was officially over. I had an ice cream with Kayden in a few hours. I rushed through the tower and into my room, tossing my bag aside. Sifting through my closet, I found that I had no options to wear that I liked.
"I literally have nothing to wear!" I shouted, falling back into my bed that was covered in clothes.
"I would beg to differ," I looked over, supprised, and saw Peter leaning against my door frame.
"Oh, hey," I greeted casually, "Just can't find anything to wear." Peter nodded as if in thought, walking over to where I was. He surveyed the bed in front of me before picking up a dark blue top and white jeans. He held them up to me and nodded.
"Definitely this," He mumbled. I smiled. Of course Peter would help. He looked a bit sad, but I figured it was nothing. I took the clothes from him and wrapped him in a hug, before starting off for the bathroom. I peeled my clothes off, before stepping into the shower.
[PETER PARKER POV]
"I literally have nothing to wear!" Ari whined as I walked towards her room. She had a date with some guy named Kayden tonight.
My thoughts drifted back to a year ago, in Wakanda. It was then that I realised I had feelings for Ari. Like feeling feelings. I always tried to tell her but I was never really able to. And now she had a date with some guy named Kayden. I know I should be happy for her, I know I should, but god, I wish it was me.
I leaned against her door frame. "I would beg to differ," I said with a small smile. Ari looked up to me from her position on the bed.
"Oh, hey," She said softly, "Just can't find anything to wear." I nodded, thinking back to past outfits Ari has worn. A memory of she and I at some sort of corporate meeting flashed though my mind. Ari had a blazer pulled over a dark blue skin tight top and a pair of white jeans. She looked beautiful.
I walked over and picked both items up, holding them up to her before nodding finally. "Definitely this," I said, but it came out as more of a hopeless mumble. She took the clothes with a quick smile and wrapped her arms around me. I hugged her back. She felt like home. She broke the hug and rushed to her bathroom, the shower turning on moments later.
I could tell her, I could tell her, I thought. But she wouldn't feel the same way. Kayden is taller than me, better looking than me, more popular than me. He was a somebody, and I was a nobody. Ari is a somebody, too, and nobodies don't date somebodies.
"Hey, kid, is Ari in here?" Mr. Stark asked from the door. Ari called me and told me about how he knew about Bucky, about how he wanted to give him up, about how he told her that she wouldn't ever be a hero. Ari had been giving him the silent treatment ever since, and he'd been doing the same.
"No, Mr. Stark, she's in the shower." He nodded with a glum look and turned to leave. "Mr. Stark?"
"Yeah, kid?"
"How did you know that Miss Potts was the one?" Mr. Stark smiled fondly at me. Does he know?
"She felt like home," Mr. Stark answered easily I nodded, and he left. I plopped down on the bed, defeated. I was so screwed.
After about 20 minutes, Ari walked out of the bathroom. She had on the outfit that I picked, her blonde hair drying in waves. She looked stunning.
