Sirius could not comprehend what was happening. The room was a twist of chaos in his perplexed mind. At either side of him was his indignant parents who's frowns were etched deep in their beautiful completions. Severus was also there. Sitting quietly, head bowed down with curtains of matted strands covering his face in an attempt to hide from the horrid situation that he couldn't even remember getting into. His mother stood behind him, hands placed firmly on the back of his chair. Her expression was hard to decipher, her face showed nothing of her anger yet her eyes glared deep into the souls of his parents.
Dumbledore stole his attention and brought him back to his harsh reality.
"What are we to do about this... inconvenient situation?" He asked from his desk, hands clasped before him. Mrs Snape looked horrified at his wording.
"A wedding is only fit for something as severe as this" Walburga Black stated. Her husband raised an eyebrow in her direction but it was shrugged off, she would have her way. Mrs Snape snapped her head back to the other mother, obviously perplexed at how a 'marriage' would solve the situation her son was now in. Mrs Snape opened her mouth but Lady Black cut in before she could start to speak.
"Oh, of course we'll have to start prep soon if we want the wedding to in August! That way our reputation won't be ruined and we won't be suing both Hogwarts or Eileen Snape". Everyone in the room stared at Walburga Black with a series of emotions, all negative.
Eileen Snape looked horrified. Walburga had always been a nasty bint.
"How dare you!" Eileen cried, "You're wicked son has assaulted my Severus and you put the blame on us!"
Orion Black took his turn in berating the Snape's, "Well, if your son hadn't enticed Sirius then none of these precautions would be necessary"
"Victim blaming Orion! You were always an awful person!" Severus looked up at his mothers defensive face, why couldn't she be like this to father?
"Now, now" Dumbledore arose from his seating position, "No one is blaming anyone, let us just settle a date and be out of everyones hair" the two families continued the glaring war.
"April" Eileen said firmly.
And before the Blacks could object Dumbledore butted in, "Yes, April is a lovely time of year. And the day? Oh the 19th would be truly marvellous" Dumbledore looked at his calendar for reference, "And it's on a Friday too! Absolutely fabulous! Now I think it will be beneficial to the boys if they were to head to bed" and Dumbledore shovelled the two families out from his office.
Outside the office the two boys begrudgingly said fair well to their parents (neither of them pleased with the recent event) and walked off to their respective dorms.
"I'm sorry" Sirius suddenly spoke before the parted ways, "Truly".
Severus raised a brow and twiddled his thumbs uncomfortably.
"I am sorry. I've done many things to you that I wish I could take back" and before Sirius could let Severus answer he handed him a small paper fox, "here" he shoved the piece of origami into his palm, "I know it's not much but have it" Sirius left. Leaving Severus on his own. His rapist had just apologised to him. Fuck he had to marry him and bare his child but he gave him a thing.
Severus glazed down at the purple paper fox, the delicate folds part of the charm and beauty. Maybe, just maybe Severus could work with this. This could be a chance to take the massive unknown weight of off his shoulders. For some reason Severus felt shame and guilt deep in is stomach but he had no memory to source the discomfort with. So with a small smile of acceptance Severus left to his dorm, thankful that it was well past curfew.
A few weeks later at the entrances of the infirmary stood two very uncomfortable young men. Their dark hair blended with the shadowed walls of Hogwarts. Today was a day dreaded by both teens, if Severus could he would have aborted the abomination that latched on to his insides like an uncontrolled disease. Severus took a look at his old second hand watch and glazed silently as the small arrow ticked slowly, the small numbers reading '7:54'. Only 6 minutes to go. 6 more painfully minutes.
On the other side of the wall to Severus stood Sirius. He leaned against the hard cold wall with an unreadable expression etched upon his flawless features, his hands stuffed deep into the pockets of his school trousers. If Sirius really was the father to his child at least it would be nice looking, right? Severus had often tried to reassure himself that even through all of this horror that yes, there would be a bright side. There had to be a bright side because if there wasn't, well someone help him because who knows what he would do. Hell, not even Severus himself knew what he would end up doing. One man can only take so much darkness until he snapped. So even in such darkness Severus tried to stand tall. Although, the foggy memories of January had terrified him, there seemed something much darker going on below the surface, Severus couldn't put his finger on it but it surely made him severely uncomfortable. A cough came from the other side of the hall. Severus slowly looked up at Sirius-his supposed rapist-never taking his eye of the time, '7:55'. "So..." Sirius shuffled his feet awkwardly, "what gender do you think it will be?"Severus' face twisted in confusion, "Sorry to burst your bubble Black but it's not another 13 weeks until we find that out" Sirius scoffed, "Well, I apologise for trying to make conversation. I'd want a girl" Severus stayed quiet, curious for Sirius' explanation, "Cause then I could learn how to do those fancy pleats and dress her in pink ducky onesies".With brows knitted in confusion Severus tried to process what Sirius was saying. Did he want this child? Could he just abandon him with it and move on with his life? "I don't see why you'd want a girl. A boy would be far easier to raise".Sirius laughed, it seemed so genuine. What had really happened? There was no guilt on Sirius' face, he didn't look like a bad man. Severus may have hated him-he still does-but those weren't the eyes of a rapist. "You know, it's two more months until we get married" "One of us will be dead the first month in" Sirius grinned, "more like the first week"Severus glanced at his watch, '7:59'. One more minute, if only he could throw himself of a cliff. "Umh" a small voice coughed out .Both boys turned their head to glare and before them was a first year, her hair pulled into a tight low bun enhancing her toad like facial features, the pair scoffed at the arrogant child. "Fuck off" Severus scoffed, his voice sharp like a knife. He watched as she scurried off, "Goddamn little urchin".Sirius watched Severus with amusement, "Yeah, let's hope that it's not a girl" and Sirius opened the infirmary door and swaggered in. Pomfrey scowled at the sight of Sirius blatant arrogance. "Mr Black, Mr Snape please follow me to the back" and they both followed the strict medi-witch.
