The stinging and burning made his skin itch as Jimin watched little drops of blood slide down his forehead, creating a small pool of blood once they hit the floor.

No more than 10 minutes ago a group of naughtier and older kids were disturbing him, resulting on him falling from the swing he was on and making him hit and bruise his forehead. There wasn't a lot of blood, but it still hurt.

He was lucky the bullies got scared the instant they saw the blood on Jimin's face and ran away to avoid troubles, so he didn't get more beaten or bothered.

Before today those kids had only made fun of him verbally or occasionally pushed him, but today was the first time they had attacked him in a way they couldn't make an excuse in case Jimin decides to accuse them. That was why they had left the scene so cowardly.

Anyway, Jimin is glad they left. After a while, once his eyes had clouded because of the tears, he can't help it and blinks shedding the first tear. Then, he just starts crying.

His forehead hurt, his head ached, his knees burned, he was covered in dirt, those kids were total shit and he really wanted his mom by his side.

"Chim!" a high and familiar voice reaches his ears before he starts crying even harder.

Jimin raises his head a bit to see Hoseok running towards him. The blood drips from his forehead and stains his face. Hoseok looks at him worriedly before taking his little hands and help him get up. "Chim, what happened?"

"I fell down..." Hoseok puckers his mouth and frowns, replacing worry with anger.

"That's not true, you were pushed!" he raised his voice, heated.

Jimin knew he couldn't lie to Hoseok, but he still didn't like to tell him the truth because Hoseok used to want to protect him and if he was angry he could end up with problems or even beaten up as well and Jimin definitely didn't want that to happen.

Sniffing, he let Hoseok grab his hand and take him to (probably) his own house so that Hoseok's mom or big sister could heal his wounds.

"Seriously, you need to say something to them, or I'll do it myself," Hoseok murmurs angrily. Jimin couldn't see him because of being behind him but he was sure he had his characteristic pout with his lips in a triangular shape. "No!"

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want them to hurt you."

"They won't hurt me. I'll kick their butts if they keep on bothering you," Hoseok says confidently and irritated.

But Jimin knows that's not the truth.

"They are more, and I know they don't like you; I prefer them to hit me instead of doing something to you..." Because Jimin would really hate seeing his hyung crying. The only idea angers and saddens him. Surely, he didn't protect himself properly, but if someone dared to hurt Hoseok he would do everything he was able to do in order to protect him.

Hoseok stops walking and turns around to look at Jimin, he was still frowning but he also had a pout. He inclined to rest his head on Jimin's little shoulder and hug him tightly.

After separating he takes the chance to wipe off the tears that were drying on Jimin's chubby cheeks. "I promise, once I become a big and strong alpha, I'll protect you from everyone," he says with a bright smile and innocent eyes.

Jimin sniffs and wipes his face with his arm, smearing blood and dirt on his sleeve. "How do you know you'll be an alpha when you grow up?"

"I don't know, it's what everyone tells me," Hoseok shrugs his shoulders and continues walking holding Jimin's hand, but this time he tightens the grip. "And if they are wrong?"
