A tear ran down Dave's face.
"Zkye. I don't have m-much ti-i-ime. I'm yrros rof gnihtyreve"
"Dave! Dave snap out of it!"
Dave felt tears running down his face. Zyke shacked him, "YOU WASTED IT. YOU COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING." He screamed at him. Dave looked at him distractedly."Mi yrros Eykz. Evigrof em." Dave whispered. Zyke sighed and pulled Dave back up to his feet."Come on, we need to find a doctor to fix you." Zyke hissed. Dave followed him down the hall into the facility. They both shuffled down the hall. Then they heard screaming down of the halls and started running.
After they got past a checkpoint in the maze-like corridors they quickly found a good spot to stop for a few minutes. Dave was not alright though. "Pleh em. Esaelp. Ti struh os hcum. Xif em." He begged to Zyke as he dug his fingernails into his shoulders.
"What is it, Dave?" Zyke asked.
"Gnihtyreve struh os yldab. Ekam ti pots."
"It hurts?"
Dave nods.
"It's alright, Dave. We just have to find a living semi-sane scientist.."
Dave slowly nodded. Zyke grabbed Dave's wrist and dragged him down the corridor.
They ran through light containment. Trying to find a living scientist. One that wouldn't kill them preferably. "Hurry up, Dave." Zyke hissed as they kept running. It was eerie. No one else was around. Not even the other... subjects which escaped. Which was also killing them.
Dave was mumbling his nonsense and Zyke was trying to piece together what he saying. Zyke was never sure. He didn't speak whatever those scientists did to Dave. He tried his best to understand. It was bloody annoying though. And frankly, Dave was slowing him down at the moment. So wh- Zyke suddenly realized Dave had been repeating the same thing for the last half a minute.
"Llik em."
"What?"
"Llik em. Llik em, Mi gineggeb ouy. Llik em."
"Wait... Are you-"
"Llik em."
"Are you saying 'kill me..'?"
Dave nodded and repeated it again.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry, Dave. I'm so sorry."
They kept moving. Dave kept repeating it as they did so. They kept running for a while before Zyke stopped at a split in the corridor. "I need to take a breather, Dave." He panted.
"Llik em. Yeht wonk tahw yeht did tub tnod erac."
"Llik em."
"You are f.cking with me, Dave."
"Yeht tnaw em kcab. Ew evah ot peek gnivom."
"I- I can't understand you, Dave." Zyke whispered as he stared at Dave. He truly didn't understand. It was frustrating. Then he got an idea finally.
"Try saying something slowly."
"Gni hte mos ylw ols."
"I said slowly"
"Taht saw sa ylwols sa I nac klat won."
Zyke started to have a breakdown. He was in a dangerous facility where even more dangerous experiments were running loose. And who did he have as an ally?! A person who couldn't even talk properly and wanted to die!
Dave had started to walk into the corridor to his right. There were the big slidey sturdy checkpoint doors. All the while Zyke was screaming stuff along the lines of "Oh god why couldn't I have gotten a normal person." and "I can't understand you, how are we going to survive you."
Zyke noticed that Dave had begun to walk off. He got up off the floor which he had sort of collapsed in a huff and walked up to Dave. He saw the checkpoint doors and fished the key card he had stolen out of his pocket. He opened the doors and what they both saw on the other side was a medium sized room with a few consoles that were locked out. It wasn't tainted like the rest of the god-forsaken facility and was a dead end. There was a glass cage in the room which was opened. Zyke got his idea. He didn't want to hurt Dave or kill him. He just wanted him gone. He would come back to get him later. Zyke pretended to look over the data on one of the consoles and turned back to Dave.
"Wait, Dave, I found something. Go in there." Zyke nudged Dave towards the glass cage.
Dave looked at Zyke than at the cage.
"It's something that'll fix you."
Dave went inside the cage and Zyke closed the door. Dave suddenly gasped and twitched. He then dug his fingernails back into his shoulders and made a few sounds of pain which Zyke ignored.
"I'll be back Dave. I promise!" Zyke ran out the checkpoint doors and closed them behind him. Trapping Dave in two cages.
Dave kept making painful sounds for a few more seconds, then took another gasp. He slowly looked at the checkpoint door.
"Zyke."
"Now I'll never leave..."
A tear ran down his face.
