I was floating around my old house and noticed my friend "Blondie."

"Blondie,  whatcha doin' here? " I asked while floating towards him.

"Stop it,  Lemon Girl! You almost scared me. " I smirked and I passed through his solid body.

"Ahhh!  So cold!" I laughed. It's been a while ever since I played a prank on him,  only this time I played with him as a ghost.

"Do you mind?" He said and started ruffling his fake blonde hair.

"Hey!  Do you have a girlfriend, love?"

I am used to call him love just because when we were still kids,  I am his wife when we play house.

"Why would I get one if I already have you,  lady? " I kinda blushed but I continued, "So disgusting!  Why would I be your lady still?"

I floated towards a mirror wall and look at his eyes on the reflection by the mirror. "Give up on me,  love,  I'm dead. "

He faked a smile, "Lady,  can we not talk about you?"

I wrinkled my face and shook my head. "So,  whatcha doing here?"

He sighed and said that he's just visiting me.

"Aren't you curious why you haven't crossed over to the other side?"

The question made me think for a while.  "I guess I need to see you get married,  love."

Now,  he's the one whose face is crumpled. I laughed a little.

"You know it was me who really started the fire, right?"

He nodded. "Then, I may be still here because I wasn't suppose to die yet."

He looked back at me. I smiled and made a disgusted face.

"Don't think about me, think about your life, love."

"You were my life Lemon girl."

I turned away my gaze from him.

"Love!!! Stop dwelling! I'm already gone."

I floated towards my room and cried my heart out. It's kinda weird that I'm saying that. I'm nothing but a see-through essence.

I feel like I'm dying again.

"Gracie!" I looked at him. And I noticed that my hands are disappearing.

"No,  please don't take her yet!" He cried and tried to hug me.

As if, his pleading came true, I stopped from disappearing.

He noticed it and wiped away his tears.

"I am the one who holds you back, Gracie."

I wept too and knew that it was true.

Gracie was my name when I was still alive.

As Gracie, I was always alone in this house but my neighbor, Byron Smith was always there to annoy me at first.

I was only 7 when I met him. He was a year older than me. He and I were at the same grade at school. Because he started school late.

And so,  from 7 to 13 years old,  we were inseparable. We even thought of marrying one another when we grew older.

But, the fire I started, unfortunately cut my life short.

At the time,  I was the only one who was at my house.

My parents and siblings were still out.

I didn't mind being alone. Yes,  I got lonely but not really sad. I just regret the time I died.

I would've live longer if I didn't light a candle and left it by a window.

The curtain got caught on the flame and the fire started.

I didn't have the time to scream for help because I was deep asleep.

The candle was scented and it helped me sleep easily.

My life might have ended. But, my  soul is still here.

It's been a year since the fire accident and my house is still barren without the people who used to live here.

My family left when they couldn't take my death anymore.

They didn't sell the house. It just became vacant after they left.

Only my room was burned with my body.

They got the room restored for me,  even if I'm not gonna come back to it anymore.

"Go home, already, Byre, it's already dark out."

He nodded and left.

When he was away already, I just lied down on my bed and pretended to sleep. Ghosts don't need sleep but just closing my eyes,  made me think I was alive still.
