The Lemon Girl

Once there was a child named Rose, she had a pair of loving parents, and a pair of  strict grandparents. She wondered why her grandparents hasn't aged ever. They only disguised themselves as old people whenever they are out and about.

They are very isolated from the community. But her parents were very social in theirs.

"Grandma? Why do you guys don't age?" Asked the 7 year old, Rose.

"That my dear is a secret." Her grandma patted her head. "It's time for your nap."

The grandfather lifted her and placed Rose in his lap. "Iiih! I am already old enough to fall asleep on my bed." She wriggled out of the grandfather's lap.

"You know, my dearest grandparents, Biju and Zanon, I always had this magic in me, care to explain?" They gasped and noticed the little one has turned into a dragon.

"Oh my, Junon has produced a Dragon Spirit." Biju is smiling, yet Zanon has pressed his lips together.

"Listen my dearest baby dragon, you are a Dragon Spirit." Rose turned herself into human again and listened.

Her grandparents told her that they are Dragon Spirits too. They were born with human parents. They used to live in an island called, 'Dragon Island.'

"My Rose, you need to keep this from everyone else." Even her parents have no idea of Dragon Spirits and Junon, her father, doesn't even know. "Then, do they see you as is or do you cast a magic spell on Mom and Dad?"

Biju nodded. "It's for his own good, I know it breaks my heart to keep our real selves to him." Zanon comforted his wife.

"Before we die, we must tell him."

"Alright!" That's the story of how I found out I am a Dragon Spirit!" She stood up from her seat. "Come on Rose, tell us about how you can't conceive children anymore?"

She sadly stared back at us. "Hmmm, you might cry and I might cry while I tell you."

I pouted, "Crying is normal, come on!"

She sadly smiled, "If that's what you want, I'll tell you."

She sat down again and drank the blueberry juice.

"When I turned 17, I met the one I would love for the rest of my life."

Rose met him on a field trip. He was a year older than her and yet he seems dumb-looking in a nerdy way.

"Just like Byron!" Love rolled his eyes at me.

"Awww! He is, you know, he kinda looks like my love then, but my love is more handsome."

We quieted down and listened.

"At first, I find him really arrogant, because I was stereotyping everyone I met or see, I was a really critical bad girl."

Rose said that the guy's name was Maru Dean. He was taller than her and he approached her first.

"Hi Rose, want to be my girl?" She just passed by him and squatted by the lakeside.

"So cold, I like it." During the trip, Maru Dean keeps on approaching her and she just evades him. "I'm getting tired, will you stop walking away from me?"

Rose just smirked. "Then stop, I'm not going to be your girl."

And so, Maru left her roaming about in the forest. "Guys! You still have 10 minutes before we start our activities." It was the facilitator who told the group.

Rose went further into the forest. Her grandparents funded this trip, for her to discover the Dragon Island.

"They said the portal is somewhere here." She said to herself. "What portal?"

She almost jumped off her wits and almost turned herself into a dragon.

"What the heck, are you doing here?"

Maru Dean followed her for a while. "I was getting curious on where you were going, that's why I followed you."

Rose just rolled her eyes, "You followed me with that in your hand?" He was eating a corndog while following her.

"Oh, this? Here I saved another one for you."

She rejected the other corndog. "Hide that away, you might attract bears and they eat you too."

He finished the corndog first before speaking, "Bears are not going to appear, they're scared of you."
