Ash huffed and puffed as she dragged a khaki coloured bag full of metal poles up the tall hill, followed by the rest of the party. Dustin walked ahead, one bag flung over his shoulder and another in his hand. The sweltering sun above burned her dark skin, causing sweat to bead down her forehead. She pushed a few of her baby hairs out of her face, making them stick up in the air. Luckily for her, unlike the other two girls, she had managed to tie her hair back, so her neck wasn't as hot as hot and sticky.

"Aren't we high enough?" Lucas groaned, although he was carrying probably one of the lightest bags out of the bunch. Ash looked back and laughed at his ridiculous yellow hat that flapped down over his ear and didnt match anything else he was wearing.

"Cerebro works best at 100 metres." Dustin clarified.

"Y'know I think people in Utah have telephones." Max said breathlessly, catching up to Ash. Behind them Mike and El whispered to each other, clinging onto their arms for fear life.

"Yeah but Suzie's mormon."

"Oh shit." Lucas gasped. Will emerged beside Ashley, his hair sticking to his forehead with sweat. "She doesn't have electricity?"

"No that's Amish." Max rolled her eyes, giggling to Ash over how stupid her boyfriend could be.

"So what's mormon?" Will asked, looking between Ashley and Dustin.

"Super religious white people. They have electricity and cars and stuff." He took a deep breath, growing tired from the long hike up the hill. "But since I'm not mormon her parents would never approve." He shrugged sadly.

"I'm sorry Dustin." Ash smiled sympathetically.

"Its cool. It's all a bit Shakespearean." He laughed, smiling his small teeth at the group.

"Shakespearean?" Max asked, her eyebrows raised questionably.

"Yeah." He continued, trying to think of a play. "Like Romeo and Juliet. So yeah."

"Right." Max rolled her eyes, shaking her head to Ashley again.

"Starcrossed lovers."

"I got it."

"You know they die at the end of that right?" Ashley smiled, laughing silently at her friend.

"They died for love." He grinned, pointing his finger down to her. She shook her head, looking down at the two behind them.

"Hey guys!" Mike called. Everyone stopped and turned to them. They had both stopped a little further down the hill. "This is fun and all but uh-" he pointed down to his watch.

"I have to go home." El finished for him, her hair blowing back in the wind.

"Where almost there." Dustin frowned, pointing to the top of the hill behind him.

"Sorry man." Mike shrugged, not moving from his spot. "Curfew." He ushered her to follow him down the hill, taking her hand.

"Good luck." She smiled happily, waving to them all. She skipped cheerily down the hill with Mike, holding onto his hand tightly.

"Curfew at 4?" Dustin asked, looking up from his watch.

"They're lying." Lucas frowned, throwing his hand in the air.

"It's been like this all summer." Will continued, staring after the two sadly.

"It's romantic."

"It's gross."

"It's bullshit!" Dustin looked down to them in disgust. Ash sighed and continued up the hill. "I just got home." He said sadly. "Their loss right? Onwards and upwards! Suzie awaits!"
