Chapter 2

"Hold up, hold up....you had sex against a wall?!?!"

"Taylor! That's all you got from that whole story??" I groaned into the phone. That girl seriously had a one track mind. I just finished telling her everything that happened between me and Connor last night.

"Sorry, I swear I was listening! I'm just surprised that's all. Didn't think he had it in him." She mused.

"Well it wasn't good, and didn't last that long so don't get too excited." I said with a humorless laugh.

"I'm sorry, Court. You should not have to go through this!! I just knew he was an asshole deep down. He wants you to be a housewife?!?! What the actual fuck is he thinking? Seriously.."

As Taylor continued her rant I let my mind wander a little. I was still reeling from last night. What the hell was that? Connor had never talked to me like that before. All condescending and what not. He made me feel like an idiot for wanting to break up with him. Now I definitely knew it was over. But I'm not sure how to continue with the break up, the way he was talking last night really confused me. Not in the 'do I really want to break up with him? way but in the 'how the hell do I break up with this guy?' way. He was supposed to pick me up this morning for school so I woke up and got ready early so I could get advice from Taylor first.

"Hello, Courtney, are you there?"

"I'm sorry, T. I zoned out. What the hell am I supposed to do?!" I checked the time on my phone. "He's gonna be here in like ten minutes!" I was starting to panic. Now that I knew for sure that I wanted ya to be over, I needed to get it over with-and fast.

"Calm down, don't worry about a thing. When he picks you up, tell him how it is. Be straight up and leave no room for arguments." Taylor always knew how to talk me down from the ledge. I could feel my heart rate start to slow down and my muscles start to relax. She was right. I had nothing to worry about.

"Thanks, girl. You're right. I got this." I said with a newfound confidence.

"Yes you do, bae! Now get your cute little ass in that car and tell that motherfu-"

"Taylor, I gotta go! He's here! I'll see you in a few!" I said as I bolted down the stairs after hearing his car horn outside.

"Hi mom! Bye mom!" I said as I grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl and rushed to the front door.

"Bye honey! Love you!" She yelled as I shut the door behind me. As a nurse, my mom usually has early days and long hours, but I knew her and my dad were leaving on a cruise tomorrow so she needed all day to pack and get ready for their trip. My dad is a Doctor, which is how they met each other in the first place. He loves his job, so I'm sure he's going to be working until the second they have leave, which I'm sure will piss my mother off to no end. They love each other though, and even though we all don't see each other much, we are a very happy family.

After getting into Connors beloved Chevy truck, I turned to face him. Here goes nothing.

He was looking at me lovingly, smile plastered on his face like nothing had happened.

"Hey, babe." He said as he leaned over the middle console. The kiss meant for my mouth landed awkwardly on my cheek due to my quick reflexes.

"Listen, Connor-" he interrupted me with a loud sigh while putting the car in drive to head to school.

"My mind has not changed since last night. I still want to break up." I said quietly. But I knew he heard me due to his clenched jaw and white knuckles. Luckily the drive to school was only five minutes so this wouldn't take long.
