Joanie's POV:
When we got back to the hotel room, I laid on one of the three beds with Everly, "Are you sure you don't want me to take her?" Shawn asks quietly, looking at the small girl sprawled out half on the bed, and half on me with one hand gripping tight on the stuffed animal, and one gripped on my arm. I smiled at her, "I'm sure Shawn. I really don't want to give her up yet." I whisper, Shawn smiles, Hunter, Steph, and Shawn kiss Everly on the head before settling into bed, I close my eyes ready for sleep to take me. "Mama! Mama!" Everly shouts.
Shawn, Stephanie, and Hunter rush over to me and Everly, "Mami, te rog! trezeşte-te!" Everly exclaims, holding me tighter. "Everly, sweetheart wake up." I say, gently trying to wake her. After a few minutes, her blue eyes snap open, "It's okay Everly, just breathe, we're here, you're safe." I whisper. "Aunty Jo, it was so bad!" Everly cries, Shawn reaches for her, taking her into his arms, "Its okay Ev, it's over." He whispers, gently rocking Everly, Shawn gets up with Everly still in his arms, and lays down on his bed with Ev.
"Did you know that even I get nightmares sometimes?" Shawn asks Everly, and she shakes her head, "Mine was about my mama back home, she got hurt by bad man." Everly says, sniffling, "You'll never get hurt, right?" Everly asked, looking at Shawn, then at me, Steph, and Hunter. "No Everly, I'll always be here, with you were I belong." Shawn promises, then Everly looks at us, "We're not going anywhere Ev, not me, not Uncle Hunter, and not Aunty Stephy. We will be here when you wake up in the morning." I reassure her.
"You have a lot of other family to meet tomorrow, and they'll tell you the exact same thing, now go to sleep sweetie, we'll see you in the morning." Steph says, giving Everly a kiss, Hunter repeats her actions, "Sleep well squirt, I love you." Hunter says, they both head to bed.
"We got you Everly, go back to sleep." I say, and she closes her eyes. I kiss her cheek before going back to my bed for a peaceful sleep.
Shawn's POV:
As Ev sleeps, I can't help but wonder. Why did these certain events have to happen to small child like Everly. A daughter should grow up with both her parents; who love and protect her.
Everly is a warrior. My little warrior. I can't wait to watch her grow and flourish, and to show the world that they couldn't knock her down. My daughter is gonna walk the Earth super kicking anyone who gets in her way.
Translation: Mama, please! Wake up!
