Chapter 8- Finally 17

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday Gabriella, Happy Birthday to youuuuu" as I wake up to Annalisa and Mamá singing with cake that had candles that numbered 17. Yeah that's right... today's my birthday and I finally turned 17!!! Mamá leans over to kiss me and tells me "There's an surprise for you downstairs, check it out." I dash downstairs as fast as I could hearing Má and Annalisa giggling and coming down after. I look around stating "Where" I hear a voice come around the corner..."Here" I turn around to see my dad standing in the kitchen. "DAD!!!" I said as I jump into his arms balling into tears.

"How, When, Did...."

"No questions baby just know I'm here and wouldn't miss your birthday for a chance...Happy Birthday!" he said

"I lovvvvveee youuuuu" I said mumbled as I cried

"I love you more" said dad

We stood for an couple minutes realizing this is real. "Come on y'all let's have a seat and catch up on life huh."

As we say down on the couch, He begins asking all the questions there could be
"How you been?"
"How's school?"
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Better not."
"Have you meet new people yet?"
"How do you like it here?"
Ignoring them all I jump into his arms holding him tight "Don't....please don't leave again." I said
"I love you, you know" he said "I love you too." I replied

Before you knew I was asleep and the clock read 4:45

I get up looking around for dad.
"Ma, where did daddy go?" "He went out for something." she said "Is he coming back?" "I don't know baby come to momma." Walking over to her "This was the best day till now, I didn't want him to lea...."
Before I finished the door opened. I look around the corner to see dad with bags from the store and a cake. I jump up as quick as I could.
"I'm home!" He said
"Home, wait he staying here forever ?" "Yes Gabi!" Said my mom laughing
With excitement I run with joy and give him a hug cry and laughing. Mom joins us...then after a whole dad says "Can we eat know I'm starving?"
"Sí, sí Come one gaberiella let's finish dinner together." Mom said
While we cook the hamburgers and fries, dad was in the living room watching the game.

After dinner we cut my cake leaving more than half of it just for the three of us. Mom and Dad was telling me times they shared and everything that happened when they had me. As we laugh at everything being said i eventually get tired and fall asleep.
As I'm on the couch I hear momma cleaning up and dad breathing over me on the couch.
"I'm hear now and it's a final I love you babygirl." he said tucking me in. "I love you to dad." I mumbled half asleep.
