Chapter 20

(Genos POV)
I kept waking up and going back in to a dreamless sleep countless times, any time I'd briefly be awake I felt like sh*t, my throat felt a searing pain but at times it was a numbing pain from something that was on it.

The odd time I'd wake up and see ink and error looking worried ink would beam when he'd see me awake but I could never tell what he was saying it was all a haze.

I never saw reaper though, I wanted to see him. I wanted to hold his hand in mine tell him I'd be okay and we'd make it, I want him to say it too.

Waking up again I knew I'd stay awake this time , Their was less groggy ness I was almost hyper aware of my surroundings. Everything seemed almost surreal, whimpering slightly as I gently put a hand on my bandaged throat.

Looking around I could hear the buzz of all the nurses around hurrying to others rooms to help them. Looking around I noticed dream asleep in a chair across the room his head on crosses lap as he also seemed to be asleep.

Remembering why I was here the thought occurred to me again, where was Reaper? But also how long was I out I felt worser then I remember not just because of my screwed up throat.

It weighed on my soul making me unable to think as clearly as I could  with out the pain clouding my mind.

Seeing a button I pressed it making a loud ding in the hall probably at the nurses desk.

Shortly after a nurse ran in looking happy. "Your awake!" The loudness of her voice made me shrink back but also awaken the two on the couch.

"Geno?? Oh my goodness you awake!" Dream said slightly groggily but he got up and ran to give me a loose and gentle hug as to not injure me. I smiled using a arm to return in.

"When reaper called saying you where in the hospital I was so scared for you, I instantly came" I smiled silently thanking his concern. Cross joined the little gathering around my bed "yeah woke me up too. early in the morning I had to drive all the way out here" he said with a slight laugh.

Almsot forgetting the nurse was Their she rested a hand on my arm "just in cause you don't recal what had happened, you have a medical history with your lack of voice right? And what I had been told as that you used it and of course you probably know it started going wrong Their." I nodded recalling the events that lead up to it.

"The one who brought you in? Do you want me to call him or.." I nodded my head enthusiastically, she smiled "okay. I'll send a doctor to evaluate you while I do this, you too can have time to go eat now" she addressed the two who nodded Dream gave me one last hug before heading out.

After a lot of poking and prodding with a few scans I was back in my room waiting, why was he taking so long to get here? Did he want to come? Did she even call him? With so little to distract me my mind ran with millions of unanswered questions.

That was until Their was a gentle knock, looking up Their he was, hands shoved in his pockets gaze turned to the ground shyly.

I almost wanted to laugh, he never appeared shy, like ever, "hey," I smiled waving him over. Seeing my smile made him look relived and he hurried over taking both my hands "im so so so So sorry Geno" I gave him a confused look, "for making you use your voice you wouldn't be here, you wouldn't be in even worse condition I-" I pressed a finger to his 'lips' to hush him.

Taking the note pad at the side of my bed, 'it's not your fault' he stared at it tears forming in his eye sockets "I know but I was so worried and" his voice cracked slightly and I pulled him in to a hug. He returned it greatfully burrowing his face in my shoulder.
