Time : School day, almost everyone stayed back till 7pm.
The alarm sounded all across Singapore.
"This is not a test, I repeat this is not a test."
It was something none of them have heard before. Panic. 7pm. Hannah, Caryn, Julia and Ashley were in school, in the canteen held back because they had supplementary lessons for all Secondary 4 students. Many teachers rushed down from the staff room, evidently horrified, chasing everyone out of he canteen and into the Flexi Room.
(Please bear in mind that the school setting is completely different from our school, it's more of a University Campus than a Sec School.)
The four of them exchanged looks and threw their bowls from Stall 6 and rushed up the stairs into the room. A few students from 4E, 4F and 4J were already there. Where were the rest? The room was buzzing with conversation and everybody was wondering what was happening.
Lockdown.
No one else was allowed into the Flexi Room, students were pounding outside the door begging the teachers to open it. But, the teachers wouldn't unlock the damn door for them. Everyone inside the room was so confused, but one thing they knew for sure, was that something bad was happening. Some end of the world type bullshit. Thank God their friends were there. Familiar faces, besides the 4 girls, Shruthi's group was there, Sheng wei, Khee Peng and Jian Xin's guys were there, Xin Tian, Ian, Daryl, Zach and Adity all of them were there.
Blackout.
The teachers, Mr K, Mdm Norhani, some Chinese teacher and another Malay teacher they had never seen before were in the room. No other teachers were there. 55 people at max in the room. Flashlights were turned on and suddenly they were briefed by the Chinese teacher.
"There is something outside, something very dangerous. Singapore is in grave danger, we have some visitors. These visitors are in our school surrounding us at this very moment. We have a task assigned by them and in order to protect ourselves we have to complete it by 1.30am tonight. Your phones have no connection as all power cables have been disabled and damaged. All of us will stay in our school for now, we'll be alright. I hope."
The whole room went silent. What on earth was happening? Were they going to die?
