I wake up to my entire body being attacked with kisses. I immediately know the sloppy, wet kisses are coming from Amara, but the others ones, they're coming from...

"James?!" I yell, shooting up and immediately making eye contact with him.

"Good morning, baby."

"Oh my god."

As I jump into his arms, he kisses me and spins me around. I kiss his face over and over and over again. I cannot believe it. He's home. Early. Days before the wedding.

"Dada home!" Amara giggles, tapping on my leg.

"Daddy's home, princess," James smiles, picking her up and kissing her cheek.

"What are you doing here? I ask.

"I found someone else to finish the meetings. I needed to come home to my number one priority in life. My family."

Awww. My heart. I'm so happy that he's home. I've been absolutely miserable all week without him. But he's home now. Yes, I'm still very pissed that he left in the first place, but we'll talk about that later.

"Thank you. Don't ever do that again," I sigh, hugging him and Mari.

"I won't, baby. I promise."

"I pwomise too, mommy," Amara smiles.

"Thank you, princess."

After a long comfortable hug, James pulls out of it and just stares at me.

"What?"

"Shouldn't you be getting ready for work?" he smirks, glancing at the clock behind me.

"Shit!" I yell, realizing that I'm gonna be late if I don't leave now.

"Mommy! No bad word!" Amara yells, frowning.

"I'm sorry, princess. You're right," I sigh, kissing her cheek. "Do you mind dropping her off at my mom's house on your way to work?"

"I took off for the rest of the week. We're gonna have some daddy daughter time."

"Oh, god. Well have fun, you two. By the way, you're cooking dinner," I say, throwing on absolutely anything I can find.

"Ummm what?"

"Karma," I wink. "It better taste amazing or you'll be in even more trouble."

"I'm still in trouble?"

"Of course you are."

"Uh oh," Amara laughs.

"Uh oh is right, Mari. I'll see you two later. I love you," I say, giving both of them kisses before I start to walk out of the door.

"Uh, baby?" James asks, causing me to turn around. "Forgetting something?"

"What?" I say.

I look down realizing that I have no shoes on. How in the hell do you forget to put shoes on? Once I throw on some beige heels, I grab the keys and run out of the door. Words cannot describe how happy I am that I'm getting married on Saturday. James and I have been through a lot of shit together, but we never gave up on each other. James isn't perfect, but I do know one thing. There are zero secrets between the two of us. That's the one thing we'll always have.

james.

I fucked up. I fucked up bad. Why the hell did I do that? I never meant to do it. It wasn't supposed to happen. Aaliyah is never gonna want to see me again after she finds out. She's probably not gonna let me see Amara ever again. I don't know why this is had to come back up again. Two days before our wedding. Fuck.
