"a moonflower only blooms under the light of its lover."

LANDO

"This stranger actually has a proposition," I hesitate to answer.

She raises her brows in surprise but also curves her lips. "Really? A stranger proposing something to another stranger, what can go wrong?" She jokes.

"I'm racing this weekend and maybe you could come to see me," I speak fast making her frown.

"Here? In England?" She asks and I nod slowly. "Sure," She smiles making me sigh in relief. "How much is the ticket though?" She wonders now as she takes a sip of her cup of coffee.

"Oh, no, you come as my plus one," I smile softly.

"Are you sure? Don't you rather take someone you know as your plus one?" She insists but I keep denying with my head.

"Do you think your parents will let you?" I ask her and she drops a soft chuckle.

"My mother won't mind or care, my father is dead and my brother would probably just feel envy but that is all," She explains making me gulp.

"I am so sorry,"

"There is literally nothing to be sorry about," She giggles.

"But-," I start but she cuts me off again.

"Lando, it's not your fault my father is dead and it's not your fault you didn't know," She places her hand on mine which was on the table. "Plus, I'm so tired of seeing people talking about death like if it was something bad, just because we don't know what is it, humans always fear the unknown," She denies with her head at her thoughts. " I think my father is having a happy life wherever he is." She finalizes as she lets go of my hand.

I stay in silence a bit surprised for her answers, her mind is pretty peculiar. Truth is, it was Carlos's idea to invite her. As soon as I told him about her, he made me invite her to the race, in his own way to thank her plus, according to him, he saw the sparks in my eyes while talking about her.

"Might I have your number," I question a few seconds later and she nods. I give her my phone unlocked and she starts adding herself to it. "Oh and the name of the book you were reading, so I can compensate that," I add a bit ashamed.

"Don't worry about the book," She spats while giving me my phone back. Before I could fight her on that she speaks again. "So, tell me, Lando, what are we exactly doing here?" She asks while resting her head on her hand.

"What do you mean?" I respond confused.

"Why you went looking for me?"

"I have already told you why," I reply nervously making her chuckle.

"The real reason," She winks. "C' mon,"

I raise my brows in surprise. "Well," I start playing with my fingers, this girl is really confident. "I don't know, I truly wanted to thank you and "probably, wanted to know more about you since you seem so different," I confess.

"But you don't know me so what makes you think that I am different?" She retorts.

"I don't know, you just," I stop not knowing what to say next. "I'm tired of meeting the same people in different bodies," I admit.

"What do you mean?" She frowns.

"Since I have started racing I have been around the same kind of people and then I met you for like a few minutes and you are just different, like the things we talk about of your mind," I shrug as I explain and I notice a soft blush on her cheeks. "It somehow feels different when I'm with you. Good different." I smile.

"Isn't it crazy how can someone find comfort in a stranger?" She wonders. "I really don't know if I feel different around you because first, I don't hang with too many people and second, I feel different every time I am with someone different." She replies winking.

"I have this feeling that we are going to be great friends," I add and she just smiles denying with her head.

"I have this feeling that we will be more than just friends," She smirks. "Because, when you have a connection with someone it never really goes away."
