Maya's POV

Everyone had gathered in the dining room to eat dinner, something that we had planned to do since early morning. Today had been one of the most interesting days of my life, my parents and I had found out that Lucio had a demon inhabiting his mind for a while.

Although, it had escaped now.

One of her abilities, due to the light gene, enabled my mother to banish an extremely powerful, evil demon, Satanevos, to a place she called 'The oblivion'. She was absolutely sure that he could not come back, so he was definitely ruled out. Her light gene enabled her to spot demons roaming around, however big, small, or powerful they were.

I couldn't help but feel bad for Lucio, all of this must've come as quite a shock. My parents and I had explained what we could to him, leaving out the light gene and it's abilities. It was something we had sworn to keep a pack leaders secret.

However, it seemed like Lucio knew we were hiding something.

If Lucio and I end up as close as my parents, I wouldn't be able to keep it from him.

"I want seconds." Kyle announced, chewing on his last mouthful. He had opted to sit next to Luca, who he had formed a strong bond with in just a day.

"Me too!" Luca exclaimed, holding his plate in the air. "Feed meee!"

Ivy rolled her eyes at them, holding back a smile, as she pushed three large pots of food towards them. Their eyes brightened at the sight of more food, and piled their plates up high with various dishes.

She pulled the pots away from them with a glare. "Okay, that's enough! Leave some for us, you hungry hippos!" She retorted, shaking her fist at them.

Enzo wore a thoughtful expression as he regarded Ivy closely. It seemed that she noticed too, but hadn't bothered to say anything.

The more I had observed Luca, the guiltier I felt about accusing him of controlling Lucio. Lucio himself was adamant that I was wrong, and laughed at my reasoning. As much as I hated being wrong, I had to take my L and accept it.

Luca wasn't a suspect anymore.

But his father was on my radar now.

Kyle spoke up, as though he could read my mind. "Luca, you really resemble your dad. Lucio, though, not so much."

I didn't miss the way Luca's bright expression faltered a little, at the mention of his father. "I think it's the eyes, I inherited his red eyes." Luca said sheepishly. "Lucio inherited our mother's golden eyes, which honestly looks way cooler."

Ivy tilted her head at that. "Red is cool too."

He cringed a little, looking a little dejected before smiling. "I guess. Although, it does make me look mean, right? People like to assume I'm like my father; cold, brutal and menacing."

Lucio chuckled at this, showing emotion for the first time. "You're like the complete opposite of father."

Ivy noticed how the conversation was effecting Luca. "I'm sure people get over their prejudice when they meet you." She said with reassurance. "You're a really friendly guy, you know."

Luca sat up a little straighter after hearing that, grinning at her. "Damn, thanks Ivy."

Enzo couldn't help raise an eyebrow at her, before saying something. "Guys, doesn't Ivy remind you of Carlos?" He blurted out with a laugh. The question was directed to the BloodRose members, as they all frowned in thought.
