Maya's POV

I stood tall in front of my large oak, office desk with my arms crossed. I stood in the middle with Ivy and Kyle by my side, taking in the leader of our future ally.

...and my mate.

He stood in front of his six warriors, emitting an intense and immense aura. He wore sleek black clothes that were currently drenched in rogue blood, he had annihilated more than sixty abnormally strong rogues all on his own.

My curious eyes slightly narrowed at him, he had become extremely strong. I couldn't help but wonder who was more powerful between us. He was not only known for his power, but also for his looks.

He was a damn handsome guy, really good looking.

His charcoal black hair was tousled and messy from the battle, making him run his hand through it to tame it. He was a man of tall stature, standing at approximately six foot. His well built and toned body was evident, especially with his bloodied shirt sticking to his torso.

He casually wore a black belt with two long sheaths attached to it, which clearly held two swords. He was famous for his double weaponry, gaining a incredible reputation for being absolutely lethal when wielding those two swords.

His sharp, chiselled features gave him a model like appearance, no wonder he was a celebrity among the females. What had me drawn to him, however, was his intense eyes. They were as striking as I remembered them to be. Even more so actually, if possible.

Those golden orbs of his were a staggering shade, they were incredibly captivating and unreal. They looked so warm, the complete opposite to my cold grey eyes. Despite being warm toned, they seemed to hold no actual warmth in them.

We regarded each other silently, sizing each other up.

My body couldn't help but react to his scent, it was so damn addicting. I couldn't pin-point exactly what he smelt like, but it was definitely a rich musky and earthy scent. My wolf was exhilarated by the discovery of our mate, this was huge news.

"So it's confirmed then?" Ivy said out loud with a nod. "Alpha Lucio Silvestro and his warriors will be staying in the Knight Manor."

I nodded in confirmation, satisfied with the arrangements. Knight manor was specifically used for guests, so I had no problem with authorising their stay.

"You will be escorted to your accommodation." I told them, meeting Lucio's golden gaze. "I hope it reaches your expectations and is more than satisfactory for your stay."

"I'm sure it will." He responded simply.

No one moved, everyone was hyperaware of the awkward tension between us. Kyle cleared his throat awkwardly before saying, "There should be two warriors on our driveway, they will escort you."

His warriors started to leave when they realised their Alpha hadn't budged yet.

"Alpha?"

His striking gold eyes held my gaze, not looking away once. "I would like to speak to Maya."

The unspoken words, 'in private', was still heard despite not being said. His warriors left without questioning their leader, making sure to respectfully bow towards him. Ivy and Kyle glanced at me in wariness, before I gestured for them to also take their leave.

"Good luck." Ivy mind-linked me. She was deeply amused, she had already correctly guessed the situation.

"I feel like I'm missing something..." Kyle mused in the mind-link.
