Trigger warning - Swearing, a lot of swearing.
__________
Sometimes, when you find yourself scanning a room full of people, you can see the loneliness in some.  Take time to meet these people, they might bring out the best in you.
__________
Peter could never tell what was up with that girl.  She was different, that was definite.  There was just something about her... and he could never put his finger on it.
Maybe it was how she always managed to stick out in a crowd, or maybe it was the mysterious aura around her that always set his Spidey Sense off.  Then of course, when your hair is platinum blonde and nobody knows anything about you, it's bound to put some people on edge.  But her aura was... very strange.
Her presence was fierce, but calming in a sense.  It was like the tension you feel in the air before a panther pounces, but also like the ocean.  It was odd, but not in a bad way.
But hey, it wasn't like he could say anything.  He didn't even know her name.
...And then the teacher walked in, signaling the start of class.  Let's see this mystery girl, hmm.
__________
"Ugh, Advanced Algebra.  I swear this class is a sin to mankind!"  She mutters under her breath before class starts, combing her long hair back with her fingers.
Her name is Kailynn Tawni, a name that meant "Victorious Lion".  Pfft, yeah right, she was already failing in her Japanese elective, dealt with bimbo classmates on a near-daily basis, and was considered a punk because of her style of dress.  And honestly, she didn't give a fuck!
"Haters gonna hate" and "You'll say that I'll never change, but what the fuck do you know?" were two sayings she had grown to live by.
She was supporting herself on a  part-time job and going to high school, so she would often snap at people because of the stress.  Kailynn also lived in a slightly run down apartment, but hey, when your closest relatives won't adopt you and you can get a job easy, then it's better than living on the streets.  And everyday day, she had to suffer through the bullshit of the public education system.  Yaaay...
"MS. TAWNI!"  The teacher yelled, having called on her a few times during attendance.
"I'm here, teach."  She grumbles, still twirling a pencil in between her fingers.  The teacher huffs, but continues, eventually saying one name that brought Kailynn back to reality: Peter Parker.
Honestly, he was one of the only decent guys in this school.  A little small and a bit of a nerd (not that she minded, she adores intelligence), but an overall good guy.  Often, she could feel eyes in the back of her head, and she could always tell that it was him.
She felt a small warmth in her cheeks because of that knowledge, and she didn't necessarily dislike that.
Sure, she was known for being a tough cookie, but she still felt emotions.
