"Thank hokage that the mission is finally over," my teammate, Minoru, groaned.
"Maybe if your legs weren't so short we would have been here already," I ruffled his pink hair with my hand as he tried to push me away from him. Minoru was slightly shorter than me, and I made sure I always teased him about it.
"You're such a bitch, Ryoko!" Minoru finally managed to push me away,"Why don't you make fun of Souta?"
My black haired teammate pulled me into a side hug,"Because we're both tall."
Minoru huffed and crossed his arms,"Well, I'm going to go home. The tall people can report our mission to the hokage."
I groaned,"Minoru, don't be like that." He didn't hear me though because he was already far away from us. He moved fast for someone with short legs. Souta and I simply enjoyed making fun of Minoru though and we knew that he got upset when anyone called him short.
Souta lazily said,"I'll go report the mission to the hokage, you can go home if you want."
"Are you sure? I can go with you," I offered. I felt bad making him do it, he always made it known that he hated doing it. He wasn't the biggest fan of mission reports because the hokage always seemed to have a hundred questions to ask him about the simplest of things. He wasn't a man of many words unless it came to his teammates, he really seemed to open up to us only.
"Yeah, it's fine. You live further from the hokage's office than I do," he shrugged nonchalantly before saying goodbye to me and making his way to give the mission report.
I stopped to eat at Ichiraku, but it was closed for some reason. Fuck. I really wanted some miso ramen, I haven't eaten anything good since we left for our mission five weeks ago. Since my hopes and dreams of eating a hot bowl of miso ramen were shattered, I decided to just go home. I'll have to make myself something to eat. On my way to my apartment, I was stopped by my favorite constantly exhausted looking man, Hayate. I smiled widely when I saw him, but my expression soon turned to confusion when I noticed the man clinging to his side. What the hell?
"Yo, Hayate!" I shouted as I approached them,"Haven't seen you in awhile."
He sighed when I stopped in front of him,"Hey, Ryoko. Back from your mission already? I thought you would be gone longer." He didn't sound happy to see me.
"Wow, nice way to make me feel welcomed back," I mumbled.
"Sorry," he gave me an apologetic look," I didn't mean to come off as rude, I'm just exhausted."
"It's all good. Who is your friend?" I quirked an eyebrow as I stared at the other man who appeared to be inebriated.
"This is Genma Shiranui." Genma seemed to instantly perk up at the mention of his name, he was now looking up at me with a glimmer in his eyes.
"Wooow, she so pretty," Genma slurred his words together, thinking he was whispering to his friend.
I heard it though because he was hardly quiet about it. "How much did he drink?"
Hayate sighed and adjusted his grip on his friend,"More than he can handle apparently." Hayate seemed to be struggling to keep Genma upright.
"Do you need help carrying him?" I offered. Genma seemed nice, extremely drunk but nice. He was staring at me with a small smile on his face the whole time.
"Yeah, if you don't mind. I'm still recovering from an injury," Hayate gritted his teeth.
"Ah, okay. I knew something was up. You couldn't be that weak," I smirked devilishly.
"Definitely not," he laughed.
"You should be at home resting and healing, not out here escorting drunks," I quirked an eyebrow.
"Genma practically begged me to hang out with him. The man is very persuasive," he rolled his eyes.
"Oh?" I smirked.
Hayate shook his head,"I was going to say that he's not persuasive like that, but I've heard rumors that he gets around. Women love him."
"I don't blame them. He's cute."
"Are you talking about me?" Genma finally formed a coherent sentence. He's been mumbling about random things the entire time Hayate and I have been carrying him, but we've managed to ignore him.
"Yes, now butt out," Hayate scolded him.
"You think I'm cute?" he smirked and his tired, golden brown eyes met mine.
"Uh yeah, you are," I said awkwardly. I only admitted to it because he's beyond drunk and most likely won't remember anything.
"I think you're," he paused and looked me over,"extremely sexy."
"That's enough, Genma," Hayate sighed yet again.
"I'm just trying to talk to the sexy lady," Genma mumbled,"I think she's into me and I might score tonight."
I frowned deeply and released my grip on Genma, causing him to fall on the ground face first.
He whined, but I ignored him.
Hayate glared at me,"Ryoko. Why did you do that?!"
"He deserves it," I grumbled to myself and helped Hayate pick up the drunken man once again.
"He lives so far away, this is going to take forever," Hayate groaned.
"He can stay at my place tonight if you want," I offered. I didn't really want Genma to sleep over, but I really didn't want to drag him all the way across the village.
"Are you sure?" He asked cautiously.
"Yeah, he can sleep on my couch or something," I casually suggested.

"Let's just put him in my bed," I laughed awkwardly seeing the man who was already sleeping on my couch.
"Is that your brother on the couch?" Hayate asked.
"Yeah, that's the famous lazy ass," I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
My brother rolled over in his sleep and snored loudly, his long hair covering part of his face. He probably got back late from hanging out with his bad influence friends at the bar. Like usual, he'll probably be gone in the morning. I loved my brother dearly, but sometimes I absolutely could not stand him. He needed to get his own place to live instead of crashing on my couch or his girlfriends couch. Him and his girlfriend must be arguing again if he's back to sleeping at my place. Those two are too dysfunctional, but I can't judge him too much because my relationships usually are dysfunctional too.
"I haven't seen him in awhile. I didn't know he still lives with you?"
"He doesn't," I paused,"Not really. He just crashes here sometimes. He usually leaves before I wake up."
"Still letting him use you. Typical Ryoko," Hayate mumbled.
"I can't just send him away. He's my brother. We're close sometimes," I attempted to defend myself from Hayate's judgment. He never seemed to understand why I allowed people like my brother to use me.
"I'm not going to argue with you about this because I'm extremely tired and want to be at home with my loving girlfriend right now, not your dysfunctional family and a drunk Genma," he chuckled. He was trying to lighten the mood.
"You deserve betterrr,"Genma slurred and gave me a lopsided smile.
Hayate laughed as we laid Genma down on the bed,"See! Even Genma agrees."
"He's beyond drunk. The man is barely functioning," I scoffed and began to remove Genma's ninja sandals so he would be more comfortable.
"That may be true," Hayate shrugged,"Do you need any more help before I leave?"
"No, I've got it under control," I mumbled and removed Genma's flak jacket before pulling the covers over his body.
Hayate nodded his head and exited my home, leaving me with just Genma in my bedroom. I crawled under the covers after undressing down to my underwear, it's how I was most comfortable.
"Goodnight, Gemma," I sighed to myself and rolled over to face away from the beautiful man sleeping in my bed next to me. He just mumbled incoherently in response. I laughed slightly to myself and closed my eyes to sleep.
