Long odds | Mafumafu x Reader

Chapter Two

The two left the apartment to go to the mall. They had to take a train there, since it was quite far away.

While waiting for the train, (Y/N) browsed through her phone and saw a post that read,

"Concert where utaites will be performing!" was the paragraph that was highlighted at the top of the poster. And below that was images of the utaites that was going to perform. And among them she saw him.

"まふまふ"

She decided to click the link to the site where the tickets were being sold. She knew it was going to be sold out sooner or later, so she picked her desired seat and entered her billing information.

Thankfully, she was one of the first ones to be in the website and buy a ticket, so her order went through successfully. She picked the seat at the very front of course, who wouldn't?

"The train will now be arriving." The speaker announced all throughout the station.

It took about two minutes for the train to stop in front of them, and another two minutes for the people inside to exit.

They entered the train and sat down. Yana peeked at what her sister was doing on her phone and saw that she was buying something from the internet. She scanned the screen and saw that it was actually a ticket for a concert.

She was about to ask her right then and there but decided to wait until they got off the train.

Inside (Y/N)'s mind, 'Yeah sure, I saw him in a conbini and all, but I still gotta go to their concert, cuz why not?' The concert was still half a year away, but she couldn't help to be excited.

Once the train stopped, they stood up and left the train. It was a short walk from the train station to the mall, so they arrived there pretty quickly.

They firstly went to a casual clothing store, where most shirts, pants, and jackets and shoes were. One that caught her eye was a black platform shoe that had silver silver chains attached to it. She picked it up and tried it on.

"A perfect fit." She murmured to herself as she felt her feet easily fit in it. When her sister found her, she sighed and said, "Are you really not going to pick anything that isn't dark colored?"

"What's wrong with dark colors?" She defended, sitting down on a stool and taking it off. Yana knew her sister well, and when she sets her mind on something, she won't stop until she gets it.

Once she walked around the store and saw nothing else that took her attention, she walked to the counter and took out the money that was needed to pay for it.

The cashier removed the security tag that was attached to it and put it in a paper bag. Her sister followed shortly after her with a pair of pants and a shirt that had some print on it. After she paid for it, she carried her things in a paper bag and moved on to other stores.

They continued going in and out of stores until they were already in the second floor holding three bags each. "I think we have enough now." (Y/N) complained because of the strain that she was feeling in her arms. "I think so, Let's take break then. You look kinda hungry." Yana pointed to a snack shop on the ground floor that sold some takoyaki, dangos, and more stuff.

"Okay." As they walked to the place that her sister pointed to, a shiver went down her spine and felt as if someone was watching her from afar. They went down the escalator and walked the rest of the way there.

Unknown to her, He and his friends were at the second floor too. "Mafu? What'cha lookin' at?" His close friend Amatsuki asked when he noticed that his best friend was looking at something, or in this case, someone.

He didn't reply however, he just stared and stood still as the others talked among themselves.

'Hm.. Could it be that my friend is finally in love?!' Amatsuki grinned as he tried to look directly from his friend's perspective. And there he saw a girl wearing a baggy, navy blue hoodie with black leggings, and matching black shoes.

'So that's who he's looking at..' Soon after the others noticed that Amatsuki and Mafu was looking somewhere, they all decided to take a look too. After they realized that what they were looking at was a girl that was on the ground floor, Only one same thing was on their mind. 'Mafumafu's in love.' They all thought smugly.

Sakata was the first one to speak up, "Hey Mafuuuuu~ Who are you looking at?~" He nudged him with his elbow.

Feeling his nudge he looked back at his friends and saw that all of his friends were smirking at him. "E-Eh?" His eyes were widened as he didn't even notice that they went silent and looked at where he was looking. "Who are you looking at?~" Urata teased seeing him turn beetroot red.

"Our Mafu is finally falling in love.." Even Soraru joined in teasing him.

"T-That's not it!" He nervously waved his hands in front of him, denying the fact that he was actually staring at the girl who he saw at the conbini. His face told them otherwise.

"Don't worry~ We'll help you out with her~" Amatsuki smiled and the others followed. "As far as we know, you've never been in love before, so we don't want to miss this chance!" He excitedly said as the others nodded in agreement.

Mafumafu still denied it, but deep down he was happy that he had friends like them.
