"Alright. Do you want us to cook some soup for when she wakes up?" Soraru, being the thoughtful person he is, offered.
-and to which Mafu gladly accepts. "Yes please."
Hearing his answer, Soraru looks at Urata and Amatsuki, understanding just by a single look, they all went to the kitchen to start cooking.
As they left, he looked back at her serene, peaceful face. "God... So reckless, if someone else was to find you there... who knows what would have happened." He sighed and removed the towel from her forehead, rinsed it in the water, wrung it and then placed it back on her forehead.
He noticed her breathing started to get heavier and more audible. "She must've stayed out for too long.."
"We just finished with the soup, I think it could probably be cool enough in ten minutes." Soraru said from behind him.
Mafu nodded in mute, still having his eyes glued on her.
The others understood why he was acting that way.
'He's actually in love.'
It was the same phrase inside their heads.
"You guys can continue what you were doing, I don't think she'll wake up anytime soon."
They were hesistant at first, but soon sat down on the couch and got back to playing.
===
"Where is she?! She was supposed to be home an hour ago!"
She held back on calling (Y/N), since she had mentioned to her some days ago not to call her, unless it was urgent. But now she was really worried.
She took out her phone and dialed her number. "Come on... pick up, pick up..." she repeated the same words nervously.
===
Her ringtone started to play, which was a voice clip of mafumafu in one of his videos. Mafu heard the ring from her bag, so he decided to take a look.
"Big Sis Yana"
"She has an older sister?" He picked up the phone and contemplated on answering the call.
"Isn't her sister worried? Should I answer and tell her what happened?"
The ringing continued on for a few more moments before he finally pressed the green button.
"H-Hello?" He spoke with a shaky voice.
"Huh? Who are you and why do you have my sister's phone!?" He had to pull away the phone at the distance because of her explosive voice.
He answered in a calm tone, "I'm a friend of hers, she's here at my apartment right now after we found her drinking at a nearby park.." He explained.
"What? Drinking?!" She shouted from the other line once again.
"A-Ah yes.. We saw her nearly passed out, it was going to snow heavily and she was only wearing her hoodie and leggings... So I thought it would be a good idea to let her stay here for the mean time..." His voice faded towards the end of the sentence.
On the other line, he heard a faint, "Ah."
"So you're the friend that she mentioned. She talks about you a lot you know." Her voice had completely changed from furious, protective, to a calm almost relieved tone.
"O-Oh She d-does?" He was slightly surprised about that.
"Yep, She wouldn't stop talking about how she had fun after she comes home from a day with you guys." She laughed lightly.
"But there's something you need to know, since you're caring for her and all." Her tone turns grim.
"What..?" The tone made him slightly nervous.
"This is important, so listen carefully." She says from the other line.
"Hai."
"She grew up... different from others her age. Just a few months after she was born, her health started to deteriorate and she needed to stay at the hospital, she went in and out. Turns out that she had a really weak immune system, and even simple colds could've been fatal for her. I couldn't imagine how hard it was to grow up in hospital room." She paused.
"It was hard for us too, she was too young to be suffering that much, but we never thought that it would get even worse."
'It was already sounded bad enough, it gets worse?'
"Everything was going normal that day, but then her lungs couldn't take in air. The doctors hadn't expected something like that to happen so soon. It was a terrifying moment for everyone. They had tubes inserted to her, machines were hooked into her small body back then."
"How old was she?" Mafu couldn't help but ask.
"She was six back then."
'Six?'
"That's..." He was speechless.
"The doctors really thought, that day was the day she was going to be taken away from us. But a miracle happened, and she got better and better, until she was as healthy as a normal girl."
"I'm telling you this so that you can inform me once you notice something abnormal about her, since you are the ones she often goes out with. Can I count on you?" She questioned with a serious tone.
He wanted to help (Y/N) in anyway that he could, and with a new sense of responsibility found, he replied,
"You can trust me."
