• 4 months have passed •

After Jack woke up from his coma they both went back to loving each other. However they both agreed that they both needed to heal from their pass traumas in order to love one another completely. So they went to one of Bruce's friends who is a therapist. They both agreed to have separate counseling and after these 4 months they are both doing stupendously well. Jack is officially 3 1/2 months clean from cutting and Bruce is learning to how to open up and not blame himself for everything. They have a long way to go but together they know they can do anything.

Jack was prescribed medicine for his schizophrenia, depression, BPD, PTSD, and supersanity. His moods have been getting better and his voices have been becoming less frequent. Though he does have his off days, Bruce is always there to help him. There was only one week where Jack started to cut again, but it wasn't deep and Bruce was able to stop it before it got worse.

Speaking of Bruce, he was diagnosed with depression, PTSD, anger management issues, OCD, split personality disorder, and antisocial personality disorder. Of course this came as a HUGE shock to Bruce, he's always been so good at hiding his emotions that he had hidden them from himself. He had always had to mask who his was and be two people at the same time but he never imagined that it had this much affect on his mental psyche. In his eyes he had always felt that his mind was a steel trap that couldn't be penetrated, he thought his mind was nothing but perfect. Turns out his mind was anything but. He was prescribed meds as well and because he has an abundance of friends in the tech and medical field he's been able to learn and treat his and Jack's illnesses affectively. Though there is still a lot to learn about all their illnesses they are putting in a valiant effort and progress, and it's noticeable.

Over these months they have also reconstructed the house and informed Alfred, who still has a week of vacation left, about the news. They have upgraded their bedroom and made it more colorful. Instead of it being all black, the bed is purple and green now, per Jack's request. They replaced all the pictures Bruce destroyed and even added some new ones. Bruce upgraded the closet and added more drawer space for Jack. However since Jack only owned one suit they went shopping. Since Bruce owns almost every store in Gotham he called ahead and had them all cleared so they could shop alone, without hassle.

Jack proceeded to buy a lot of suits, jeans, vests, underwear, shoes, he even bought some jewelry. Bruce just watched and chuckled as the clown jumped from store to store beaming every time he found something that would fit him perfectly. The last store they went to was a jewelry store. Jack glanced at a couple watches, but stopped when he came to an emerald ring. It's was green, but unlike the others this ring was black. Jack just smiled and continued to shop. Bruce then walked over without Jack noticing and glanced at the ring.

The ring was perfect in every way

The ring was perfect in every way. It was like it was specifically made for them. It was unlike any ring that was on display, it was the only black and green ring. Bruce immediately knew this ring was special and he knew what he had to do. He had the cashier ring up the ring and he went to the counter to pay for it. He was just about to give the cashier his debit card when he noticed another ring.

This ring was another black ring. It was Bruce's favorite color, but it was also Jack's. The more Bruce looked at it the more it made sense. Now Bruce was never partial to flashy things but in his heart he knew this ring was special. He though about how Jack would wear the green one and him the purple, so that together they'd be the perfect pair. Bruce smiled at the though of it, him and Jack, husband and husband, It'd be the best dream come true. Bruce had the cashier add the other ring to the total and he passed over his card. Bruce finished paying and discreetly hid both of the rings in his suit pocket. When Jack finished buying all his shiny gizmos they headed back to the manor to start dinner.

Bruce POV

"Jack you once mentioned you didn't like your name." I say placing the lasagna in the oven.
"I'm not to particularly fond of it." Jack says in a leveled tone. "Well why don't you change it?" I ask carefully. "Well I've never thought of that...what exactly should I change it to?" He ask quizzically. "Plus the name I was given is the name I have to stick with right?" He asked dismayed. "What's in a name? By which you call a rose by any other name, would still smell as sweet." I reply. "Did you really just quote Romeo and Juliet?" Jacks asks chuckling slightly. "I did, but that's not the point, the point is that your name doesn't define you, it doesn't make you who you are, and it should be something that you love." I say kissing Jack on the forehead. "Well then how about John Doe. It's generic and easy and plus it's a name that has no past attached to it. It's a name that's given to people who can't be identified, people whose past is unknown. So I think it fits." Jack says finishing his thought. "I like it! and most importantly you like it." I say smiling, he smiles back. "Well John, I'll make sure to legally change your name by tomorrow, Kay?" I reassure him. "Thanks babe, that really means a lot to me, like more than you'll ever know." John says placing a kiss on my hand. The oven then beeps, and I continue with dinner.
Hopefully you don't have to be John Doe long.... I can't wait to make you a Wayne.
Bruce says to himself, smiling while he begins to plate the food.
