Kimora's Pov

As i sat on the cushion, I felt like I would sink into the chair. It was so cozy and soft. Definitely good quality. Gently, i placed the cupcakes and my catalog I brought along on the oak coffee table.

I looked around. Me being in there alone made me realize I wasn't used to quiet places. I hadn't heard myself breathing for a long time. I fiddled with my fingers and then I decided to dial Charlotte. As I was about to pull out my phone, the door opened.

I almost forgot how to breath again when I took in his appearance. His secretary followed behind as he entered. I watched him quietly. He hadn't noticed me yet. His secretary helped him remove his suit jacket and placed it on his chair.

I guess he still didn't notice me because he sat on his chair and scratched his stubble about to read some documents. His secretary whispered something to him and he finally looked at me.

He squinted his eyes at me for a second and then smiled at me.

"Anita, please can you get us two cups of coffee?" He said to his secretary as he came to the couch area.

She left and he took a seat opposite me.

He stared at me like he was studying and I felt my cheeks burn.

"What happened to your parents and why did they send you instead to talk about business?"

"Ahh...uhmm..My dad passed away and my mom's not available."

"Oh! I'm sorry. I am really sorry."

"No, it's okay." I gave a small smile.

He furrowed his brows deciding if he should ask me a question or not. Then, he finally spoke. "Are you the only one that runs the cafe?"

"Ah no. I have an older sister. She owns the Cafe and i ow..."

"Oh! Makes sense now and I'm guessing she couldn't make it. That's why you're here. Alright then, since you're the baker, i have no problem with it." He smiled at me."Can I at least get the name of the person I'm doing business with?"

"Kimora, Kimora Blue."

"Mm! You have a pretty name." He extended his hands for a shake and i gave mine to him. Before I took it back, he brushed his thumb on my finger.

Purposely or accidentally, I couldn't tell but it happened.

It's as if time stopped as I stared into his chocolate eyes.

"Are these for me?" He looked at the cupcakes with milky frostings and coconut flakes sprinkled on them.

"Yeah, for giving me the chance to work with you. You have no idea how this would help the bakery."

Just then Anita arrived with the two coffee mugs in a tray.

"Would you like some?" He asked Anita and pointed at the cupcakes. She adjusted her glasses to take a good look at Alejandro.

"I hope you don't mind?" He looked at me with that dazzling smile of his.

"No, uhm..I don't mind." I actually did mind because he didn't eat any before he offered it to her.

I made them specifically for him.

She took the whole plastic dome and thanked me before she left.

"I can't eat coconuts. Allergies."

"Oh no! I'm sorry. I almost killed you. I am sorry."

He shrugged,"Please, you're exaggerating. You didn't know. So, let's talk business."

"Okay. I..um brought my cake catalogue, so I could show you some of my works."

I opened the catalog and he came over to my side to have a good look at it. He sat very close to me which made his right thigh brush my left. I could smell the woodsy jasmine smooth perfume and it made my tummy tingle.

I flipped each page slowly as he studied them carefully. I was sure he didn't notice his thigh was brushing mine and was making my heart race and my cheeks flush.

I couldn't tell if he liked the pictures because there was no expression on his face.

"Do you like them?" I finally asked in the silence.

He looked at me, "They are all good but,"

Oh no, there's a but.

"I want something different. Your design are more focused on birthdays and weddings. No offense."

"None taken." I nodded.

"I need something professional, bold and unique. An art. Something that represent this year's spring collection." He stood up from the chair and moved to and fro.

"The fashion event coming up is really important to me. I need everything to be done perfectly, I would not tolerate the slightest mistake."

He had a slight frown on his face that I wanted to take away. I didn't like seeing him this way, he looked tired and stressed. Maybe if I make him happy, he would hopefully ask me out.

I'll keep crossing my fingers.

"Alejandro, I'll make sure I do my very best. You won't regret it." I smiled at him.

"Thank you."
