Tori, Andre, and Beck were sitting outside at their table in the Asphalt Cafe when a very frantic Robbie came running over. They gave him a weird look as he panted by their table.
"Gentleman, it has returned." He finally said after a few deep breaths.
"I am a lady." Tori commented.
"What has returned?" Beck asked.
"The silence." Robbie gulped. "It's back." He stared at them, eyes full of panic. "It has returned. The horror, the silence, the deafening silence."
"Is this for a play?" Tori questioned.
"Dude, what are you talking about?" Andre asked feeling confused. Robbie grabbed his shirt making Andre glare at him. "Woa, bro, my threads!"
"The silence!" Robbie yelled then he gasped. "It's coming. It's coming." He let go of Andre's shirt and took a seat at the table. "Quiet. It approaches."
"Seriously, is this for a play?" Tori chcukled a little. Robbie lowered his head to stare at the table since he didn't get anything for lunch yet.
"No. Hush, you bafoon." He whispered quickly making Tori scoff in offense.
"Did he just call me a bafoon? I am not a bafoon!" Tori yelled then she leaned over to Andre. "What's a bafoon?"
"A clown." Andre shrugged.
"I am not a clown!" Tori snapped.
"No, you're an idiot. Be quiet." Robbie whispered harshly. "The silence has returned. 2003, 2008, and now, it's back to wreak havoc in our lives."
"Wait, I didn't know you guys in 2003 or in 2008." Tori mentioned.
Andre and Beck shared a look, gulped, then looked down at their trays.
"What is going on?" Tori asked.
Cat and Jade walked up to the table at the same time, they huffed, but they didn't say anything. Instead they both took out their phones and started tapping on their keypads loudly.
Both their phones chimed.
Jade looked down, she looked really mad, then she looked up and glared daggers at Cat. She still didn't say anything. She took her seat by Beck and started violently typing on her phone. She didn't even talk to Beck.
Cat sat down between Robbie and Tori creating distance between her and Jade. She didn't say anything, not even Hi, and her usual bubbly smile wasn't on her face. She looked upset. She just kept rapidly typing on her phone every time her phone went off she would quickly tap out another response and send it, every once in a while galring up at Jade across the table, then returning to her phone.
A silence surrounded their table. All anyone could hear was tap tap tap, tap tap tap, tap tap tap as Jade and Cat furiously typed on their phones. Their painted nails clicking against the touch screen of their pearphones.
Robbie gulped.
Beck took a deep breath.
Andre covered his mouth.
Silence. Just silence.
Cat would let out little gasps that could barely be heard sometimes.
Jade would huff or let out a scoff.
No words were spoken.
No one would talk.
"What is going on?!" Tori snapped, the silence becoming to much for her.
Andre gasped and quickly covered her mouth with his hand. He waited to see if Jade or Cat looked up from their phones, luckily they didn't, then he quickly got up and drug Tori away from the table still holding her mouth.
Tori was complaining, but it was muffled by Andre's hand. Finally, he got her inside by the lockers. She smacked his hand and he let go of her.
"What was that for?!"
"Sush!" Andre yelled. He looked over his right shoulder, then his left, then he looked behind her as if making sure the coast was clear. "Okay."
"What was that?! Why?!"
Andre took a deep breath. "Robbie was right, the silence is back."
"What doea that mean?!"
"Cat and Jade are fighting."
Tori frowned. "Oh, about what?"
Andre shrugged. "We don't know. We never know. Look, the silence goes away, they make up. Sometimes it takes a couple days, sometimes weeks, sometimes months, but they always make up. Until then, silence."
"So, just because they are fighting none of you talk?" Tori questioned.
Andre hung his head and shook it. "We learned our lessons. 2003, Robbie asked Cat if she was okay. It blew up. It always blows up when anyone talks. We've learned not to make it worse. They don't want to talk about it, whatever it is, they don't wanna talk at all, and we respect that. Well, now we do." He let out a nervous chuckle. "In 2008 I made a dumb joke about them fighting. It was just to Beck, but they heard, and it blew up. See where I'm getting at? We don't want it to ever blow up again. It's bad, horrible, when it blows up. So just live in the silenve with the rest of us until it blows over." He grabbed her arms. "I'm begging ya, Tor. Do not get involved. We don't want it to blow up again. It's never a good thing!"
"Okay, when Cat or Jade are around I won't say anything." Tori said.
Andre wrapped his arms around her in relief. "Thank you!" He pulled away and kissed her cheek. "Thank you!" Then he ran off to tell Robbie and Beck that everything would be okay.
Tori blinked. "If something's wrong between Cat and Jade they really should talk about it." She stated.
