Silent Fight

Silent Films Speak Volumes

Tori rolled her eyes as Sikowitz told his class about the history of silent films. She gave Andre a look, but he merely sighed and shook his head as if to say that Sikowitz teaches the same thing everytime this silence occurs, but it never helps the  situation. It only makes it worse.

Sikowitz called upon Jade and Cat to perform a scene as if they were in a silent movie so they got up on stage.

Tori gulped.

Andre sighed.

Beck and Robbie looked away, they both looked away, as if they knew what was going to happen and they couldn't watch it happen again.

Jade and Cat stared at each other.

"Now without saying anything! I want you two to act out a loved one's death. It can be one of you or you can both be upset about it, but don't talk!"

Cat sighed and rolled her eyes.

Jade walked over to the other side of the stage away from Cat. She sighed and sat down on the side with her head in her hands, then she looked up at the ceiling with a look of despair.

Cat paced back and forth slowly for a moment then she went over to Jade.

Jade went back to hanging her head.

Cat sat down beside her, but not too close. She slowly reached out her hand a bit, but she pulled it back, then she reached it out again, but pulled it back again. She frowned and placed her hands in her lap twiddling her thumbs to show her uncertainty.

Jade started shaking as if she was sobbing, but there was no sound.

Cat bit her lip and shook her head then she finally reached over and placed her hand on Jade's shoulder.

Jade looked up in surprise. She let her eyes drift over then turned her head to Cat, she sighed, and placed her hand over Cat's hand for a moment.

Cat gave her a small smile.

Jade knocked her hand off and stood up. "End scene." She declared then she walked back to her seat by Beck.

Cat got up too, she crossed her arms, and went to sit by Robbie in a huff.

"Very good ladies!" Sikowitz yelled. "Now class, without saying a word Jade and Cat acted out a beautiful scene." He smiled. Then he jumped up on the stage. "BUT!" He shouted to make sure everyone was awake. "Can anyone tell me what happened in that scene that they just performed?" He looked around his classroom waiting for someone to raise their hand.

The class was still silent. The kids who never talk and just react shrugged.

Tori thought about raising her hand, but decided against it and sighed.

Sikowitz frowned. "No one? No one knows what that scene was about?" He jumped off the stage. "Cat!"

She jumped closer to Robbie, but still didn't make a sound. Not even a yelp of fear like she usually does.

Jade rolled her eyes and took out her phone. Beck sighed beside her.

"Cat, do you know what your scene was about?" He asked her with a grin.

She shook her head.

He frowned. "No?" He walked across his classroom. "Jade! Do you-" She glared up at him. "Does anyone know what that scene was about?!" He yelled, but still got no response. He turned to look at nothing, as if looking out into the world beyond his class. "Do any of you know what that scene Jade and Cat performed was about?"
