Catherine's POV

His fingers brushed against mine and it sent shivers of fear through me.
His death black hair shined in the light peaking through the window and his oak brown eyes seemed to look right through me as he handed me the gun. My fingers wrapped around that gun and he gave me instructions to shoot the cops. For some unknown reason, I trusted him. I did as he asked and met him. The blond boy in the lobby, finding both boys covered in blood. He stood there, a stone-cold expression on his face, gun in hand. The blond boy held a sword, both surrounded by police officers. Blondie slices up and cuts across the chest of one of the cops, spraying blood everywhere and laughing when the man falls to his knees, curling over and coughing blood. When the boy with the leather black hair, matching his jacket yelled for me to cover him I didn't hesitate. I pulled my sister close and let out three 9mm rounds straight into their skulls. He introduced me to blondie - or should I say, Felix? - and we ran outside, to a small get-away car containing two people and shoved me in, and now here we are.

My hero screams out to the boy in the driver's seat, who puts the pedal to the metal and drifts the black Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 out of the alleyway.
"Where'd you get the car Aubin?" I hear Felix ask after we'd be driving for about five minutes. "Leo said he found it on the side of the road and fixed it up but it looks like it's from overseas so probably not." There's silence for a moment before Felix says, "meaning he stole it from a car dealership." I burst out laughing and watch as my dark-haired hero, Leo, turns bright red.
"Why the hell would you say that in front of her?" he yells, huffing before opening his door and stepping out into oncoming traffic.
"Leo! Oh my god, he just jumped out of a moving car! Oh my god!" I can't help but panic. I'm ranting, but no one else is even looking fazed. Why aren't they freaking out? Felix starts laughing at me. What is wrong with him!
"Chill out, Leo's a demon. He probably just teleported." I'm sorry, what? Demon?

"Um, What?" That's all I get the chance to say before the subject is changed to something more mundane.

"Is anyone going to tell me who the hell this chick is?" For the first time since I got in the car, Aubin didn't sound calm and collected. He is thankfully not staring at me. He is, on the other hand, staring at Felix.
"This is Catherine, stop glaring at me! Leo's the one who decided we need another freak around the hideout." Excuse me?

"I am not a freak!" That's when my little sister Haylee begins to wake up. Perfect timing.
"Who's a freak?" Haylee mutters out confused, she may be only 4 years younger than me, but she is way more innocent than I am and has been completely shielded all her life. Homeschooled and not even allowed to watch TV. "No one, go back to sleep..."
Aubin scowls. "Since when are we a goddamn orphanage?" He groans in annoyance. "Chill out, we'll sort things out when we get back to the hideout," the girl in the passenger's seat speaks, taking her headphones out for the first time since we got in the car before going silent again. This Time the rest of the car follows suit.

-_-_-

"Why are we going into the forest?" I ask nervously. Suddenly scared that I'm about to be raped and murdered. "Chill, our base is out there. We aren't going to murder you," Felix says as if he's been reading my mind.
We walk for a few minutes before we reach three motorbikes. They all get on a bike leaving Haylee and me standing there.
"Wolfie, are we abandoning them?" He shoots headphone girl a confused look "What do you mean Lisa? Oh!" He says as he looks back at me. Haylee has woken up now and is clinging onto me terrified.
Lisa gets off her bike. "Give her to me and I'll double her. You can ride with Felix." She puts her arms out and Haylee clings onto me harder.
"It's okay, baby girl, she won't hurt you." Haylee let's go and follows Lisa. Willingly getting onto her motorbike. I move and get onto the motorbike behind Felix.
"Wrap your arms around my waist and hold on tight." I do as I'm told. "If you stick around I'll teach you how to ride. Maybe even get you your own bike. Would you like that?" I feel the smile spread across my face.
"I'd love that." As the bikes rev and start, I cling onto Felix's waist tighter and he chuckles. I watch the speed zoom up as we race through the woods.
"Get settled, we'll be driving for a while!" Felix practically screams over the roar of the engine.
