I wake to the smell of peanut butter toast and fiddle with my tube until I manage to get my school shirt on over the sweat shirt with the liquid pouch. My aunty has already refilled my pouch and is obviously making me breakfast. Once Ive eaten my toast and organised my books, I head down to my bus stop. North lives five minuets on foot from my aunty's house, so it's strange that I didn't meet him before. Once I'm on the bus I see him sitting in the same place as last night. "Robin." He says confidently as I sit next to him. "Hey North," I say, a lot quieter than I expected. After about two minuets of quiet, I notice him staring again, but not at me just at the tube. "North," i say, " it's no big deal, you'll find out what it is in time, if I trust you, but I can't bring myself to tell anyone right now, Ok?" "I'm so sorry Robin, I didn't mean to stare, I just thought that it was impossible for somebody as perfect as you could need such a horrid thing stuck to your neck." "North!" I say out of embarrassment. "Sorry," he says," but it's true." After about another five or ten minuets, I feel a strike of pain through my left eye. I hunch over and wince, biting my lip to keep my self from crying out. "Robin?" He says, "what is it Robin, I can help." I shake my head and he slides his muscular arm over my shoulders, "alright" he says. He repeats, " alright."

During lunch I see Jake and Kyle at a round table, but it's always awkward around them, so I sit by myself at a smaller table, with faded paint peeling off. After some time North slides a snap lock bag containing a ham and cheese sandwich, along the table until its almost touching me. "Bonjour" he says, " French?" I ask in amusement, "?really? I thought it was Italian, maybe I should pay attention during class." I laugh. " what happened on the bus," I say, flinching a little, " that was nothing, just, yeah, nothing." "No it wasn't Robin, you can't ignore these things. You say a tube in you neck is nothing, you say insane pain is nothing, pretty soon you'll be calling death nothing." "Sorry" I say, " don't be Robin, please just don't." "Ok, deal. Have you met Kyle?" "Yeah, he's Not really, you know, he's got nothing to give people, selfish, a taker, not a giver." " you have to receive something to give something," " this is true, how about tonight, after school, I go home knowing that I've received something, therefore I can give something?" " depends what your planning on receiving." " a pretty girls address." "We'll I wonder where your going to find a pretty girl who's willing to give you her address on such short notice?" " I'm looking at one." He says, I walked myself into that one, now if I don't give him my address, then I'd be a fool, but if I do, I'd have to tell my aunty who he is, which I would like to avoid." 1626 Nation st. Auckland New Zealand." I say. He smirks and slowly walks to his next class. On the bus we sit in our usual seats. "Six?" He asks, "what do you mean six?" I respond. "at six, I'm going to pick you up from your house and take you out to dinner." His gesture is so confident that I blush at the thought. How could he be single? "now it's not exactly a question Robin, for the answer is already yes." He has a way of relieving me of decisions. So he gets off the bus smiling, and I suddenly feel exited. I don't really think of him in a sort of boyfriend way, but he's just so confident, how did he do that? Just get up and tell a girl to go to dinner with him. Whatever it was, it obviously worked.

I answer the door and see North, looking so good that I have to look away. He has on, a blue button down shirt with a rugby league jacket and dark jeans, I on the other hand where a simple black dress with my hair hanging on my shoulders. " I feel underdressed." I say. "Robin," he says, "you are absolutely stunning, and don't ever think otherwise."
