*The Story is Now in Steve Rogers point of view*

Okay, what just happened. My usual nightly visit to the gym just took a turn for the better. The chain snapped during one of my many flashbacks to the 1940's, I left my life behind and the only person I know is alive from my past is Peggy Carter. The love of my life, but she has lived her life with another man.

"Sleeping is so overrated nowadays" a female voice spoke, a goddess was my initial thought. I turned around with sweat dripping off my forehead to see the goddess. She really was a goddess. Blood red hair that fell just above her shoulders and forest green eyes that looked like getting lost in them would be easy. Before i knew it, I was lost in them, and I can't find my way out.

She turned away to help release me from her eyes, did I really want to be released? Right I've got to say something but I have to keep it cool.
"Why do you care if I sleep or not?" Wow Steve! You sarcastic twat! Now she's going to hate me! Well perfect.
"I really dont care if you sleep or not. I'm here to recruit you." Her voice was so smooth, careful yet smooth. She sounds like she can't be scared of anything.
"Who are you then?" I say, trying to not be noticed that I'm actually so eager to know her name.
"Natasha Romanoff. Your Steve Rogers. SHIELD needs your help to find the Tesseract" What a beautiful name. Natasha. I fall deeper into this pit her eyes have put me in. I cant tell why I'm in the pit at the moment. Could I.. be in lo-... no peggy is the only one for me. Right?
"I'm in." Bit too eager Rogers.
"Really? I mean, we want you to work with is but you said that so quick! I mean-" I interrupted her rambling scared voice and walked over to her. I'm lost in her eyes again, I dont want  to leave. "Calm Natasha, I know that SHIELD can be trusted. And from this little conversation, you can too"

She turned away after a few seconds and led me on to a jet of some sort on the roof of the gym. I didn't say anything because I was too mesmerized by the way she walked. I got in and sat in a seat just behind the pilot and she sat just two seats away from me. Is she single? God, I hope shes single. I would ask her out if I wasnt too much of a wimp. I sit quietly staring at my fingers the whole journey but I can feel those eyes watching me every now and again. When she looked away, I looked up. She was just so relaxed. And I was so relaxed around her.

We flew into a bay at Avengers tower and she stood up and walked to the rear of the jet where the back doors opened.
"You coming Rogers?" I quickly jogged over to her and we exited the plane together.

I'm used to army bases and battlefields, not towers the size of the empire state but modernised. Agents were everywhere. I saw the famous Tony Stark and Dr. Bruce Banner standing in front of us.
"Glad you could join us, Cap" Stark said with a smug look on his face. So smug all the time. Eh, I'll get used to it, as long as I can work with-
"Hey Hunny, I missed you" Banner said looking straight towards Romanoff. Oh crap! Really Romanoff!? You could have so many better men and you choose him. What am I kidding? She will never go out with a person like me.
"Hey babe" she jogged into his arms and they both stood there arms wrapped around each other. What was I thinking?
They walked off into the tower holding hands, but she turned back and looked at me. Her eyes begging, but what for?
"Yeah, I know Romanoff is a looker but she can kill anyone with her hands tied behind her back. I know she doesnt like Bruce but she gave in after like the millionth time of him asking and is too scared the Hulk will come out if she does break it off." Stark says looking at me watch her walk off. "Come on let's show you too your little apartment." He takes me to the elevator and we step inside.
"So, you like her?" He says with a cheesy grin on his face.
"Well no-... I mean she is-... maybe i dont know" I stutter, feeling my cheeks turn red. Red. Like her hair.
"So you do like her! Well I wish you luck my friend!"

The elevator pings and we step outside to reveal a row of doors, all equally spaced out. He walks me to a door saying "417" and gives me some keys and leaves.

I open the door and see a window straight away, over looking the skyline of New York. With the sun setting in the background, this would be perfect for a date of some sort. With no one to go on a date with. I walk into a kitchen that over-looks the front room. It is a rectangle kitchen, never really had a kitchen to be fair. The bedroom door is just opposite the kitchen door so I walk in there and see an en suite bathroom at the other side of the king size bed, that lays in the middle of the room. I sit down on the bed. Thinking about what I was going to do.
