Percy's POV
//Tartarus//
400 years later
I was about to leave Tartarus in about 3 days. I would finally get to meet all of my friends. I had stayed here for approximately 10 years and I had met about 3 primordials. They had each given me a single task to complete to prove myself. After I had completed the task they would bless me with different powers and one of my weapons, except Riptide, would change to the colour of the primordial.
The first primordial I had encountered, besides Tartarus was Pontus. He obviously enhanced my water powers and blessed.
Flashback
I had just completed my training and I was about to depart to search for Tartarus, when Damasen arrived.
"Today you leave for your tasks Percy, I've taught you everything I can and I hope you use it for good."
"Thank you Damasen. You've been a good friend and teacher."
"Before you go, I'll let you know the general shape of the tasks. You will be given a task by either Tartarus or other primordials. Some might test your skill directly and others may test your willpower and resistance."
I was jumping up and down with excitement when he said this. It was going to be fun. "Who'll take the final test?"
"It will most probably be a greater primordial. Ouranos or Chronos."
"Kronos?"
"Percy is Kronos a primordial?"
I shook my head when I realised something. "Ouranos is the dead sky god, right?"
"Perseus, Ouranos is a primordial he would eventually reform in his physical manifestation. That's why he will be taking a test."
"Ok."
"Will I be able to meet both of them?"
"Percy, do you realise how rare it is for a hero to be given tasks from Tartarus himself? You expect to draw the attention of two elder primordials?"
"Who are the elder primordials?"
"Three primordials which represent the main forces of nature due to which the Earth can still sustain are called the Elder Primordials. Gaia - Earth, Ouranos - Sky and Chronus - Time."
"Gaia's out, so that means either Ouranos or Chronus."
He nodded, "Goodbye and good luck." With that he threw me out of the house. Very friendly. I took out Riptide because I was obviously very comfortable with it. I was ready for whatever would come for me, primordial or monster. Most probably monster but it was good to have 2 possibilities.
** Time Skip **(2 hours)
It was uneventful for walking about I don't know how long. I encountered some monsters but they just ignored me. I was resting peacefully against a rock with all my weapons in their hidden forms, when I heard a very loud roar.
I got up and turned around to see a very familiar beast.
"Hey Beef Head! Haven't you had enough?"
He looked at me with bloodshot eyes. He brought out his axe and started charging like he always does. I decided that I would fight him with no weapons at all. He came at me in full speed and I jumped out of his way at the last moment. There was a key factor that did not allow my dodge to be successful. The Axe. Yep, I forgot about its range completely. As I jumped out of Beef Head's way he knocked me back with the back of his axe. Why would he hit me with the back of the axe? This was my thought as I flew back into another rock. I have to say there sure is an abundance of rocks in Tartarus.
