A/N: this is a song fic oneshot about endgame so prepare for an angsty rollercoaster!!
the song used is "ghostin" by ariana grande (it's up there)
i thought this song would be perfect for this so that's why i used it
it's also kinda about losing a loved one and still loving them (it's also about being in a relationship with someone but still thinking about and loving someone who you used to date)
and it's a beautiful song (i cried when i first heard it) which is no suprise because it's by ariana grande
anyway enjoy and sorry if you cry or if i break your heart or something!!
i know you hear me when i cry
i try to hold it in the nightstephen laid in tony's former bed, his pillow drenched with tears.
the funeral was 12 days ago, and stephen hadn't recovered. in fact, he'd been feeling worse.
he felt like tony's death was his fault; that he could've warned his lover what the consequences were of their victory.
victory. it wasn't really a victory to stephen. he had lost the love of his life. peter and morgan had lost their father. all because of stephen.
he knew that the kids could here his sobs and screams at night. peter had asked about it one day, but stephen shrugged it off, reassuring the arachnid hero he was fine.
he definitely wasn't fine.
while you're sleepin' next to me
but it's your arms that i need this time (this time)a knock interrupted stephen from his thoughts. he quickly sat up and wiped his tears away.
"c-come in." he muttered. the door opened revealing morgan and peter. he raised an eyebrow, looking at the digital clock next to him.
12:15
"shouldn't you guys be in bed?" the sorcerer asked. the kids walked over to the edge of the bed. morgan crawled over to stephen.
"we know you're upset about daddy." she whispered, embracing the doctor. peter joined, snuggling up. stephen let out a shaky sigh, melting into the embrace.
"thank you." he muttered.
he finally got some rest.

look at the cards that we've been dealt
if you were anybody elseprobably wouldn't last a day
every tear's a rain parade from hell (from hell)stephen smiled slightly, listening to morgan ramble about ponies and unicorns.
he loved her company, he loved all of their company.
he had woken up to find that peter was gone. morgan was still holding onto him.
when he had walked downstairs with a very energetic morgan, he was met with his peter making him breakfast.
he had thanked the teen repeatedly, an actual smile appearing on his face.
now, he and morgan were eating their breakfast. morgan was trying her best to make stephen smile, and it was working very well.
god, did stephen envy her enthusiasm.
baby, you do it so well
you've been so understanding, you've been so good
