*Four Years Later*

I was packing in my bedroom when Lacey walked over from hers, cheering happily.

"Graduation trip part two!" She cheered. "Are you ready for London, fellow college graduate?"

"Yeah," I said quietly. Lacey sighed.

"Are you still upset about Justin?" Lacey asked. "You guys broke up like two months ago. He cheated on you, he's a scumbag!"

"I know," I said. "But I still loved him."

"Well then this trip is exactly what you need," she said. "It'll take your mind off of him."

"I guess," I said. "Let me just grab my necklace." I opened my jewelry box and stopped when I saw something. A pretty opal ring that I hadn't worn in a long time. I stared at it for a moment, unable to turn away.

"What's wrong, Maeve?" Lacey asked. I turned around with the ring in my hand.

"Do you know what this is?" I asked her. She shook her head. "Ben gave this to me."

"Who's Ben?" Lacey asked.

"You don't remember?" I said. "Dublin. Graduation trip part one?"

"Oh right," Lacey said. "Your week-long British lover."

"I was in love with him," I said. "I wanted to be with him, but he lived so far away. He's probably forgotten all about me by now."

"Maeve," Lacey said softly. "You knew it wouldn't last forever, you haven't even seen him since then. Now come on, we have to go." I went to grab my suitcase, but turned back for a moment.

"I'm going to wear the ring," I said.

"Maeve-"

"I just want to," I said. "It's just a piece of jewelry to remind me of our trip, it means nothing." Lacey sighed.

"We don't have time to argue," she said. "Let's just go."

When we got to London we decided to go out that night, the same way we did when we went to Dublin. We were at a bar, having a drink, when the music changed. Bohemian Rhapsody. I gasped excitedly.

"Oh God," Lacey groaned. "Not again, calm down Maeve Mercury."

"I'm sorry," I said. "You know how much I love this song!"

"I know how much you love Queen," Lacey said. "And it's too much." I rolled my eyes and started singing along with the song. I had already had a few drinks, so when the operatic section started I was up on the bar, singing and dancing to it. At the end of it, my foot slipped and I fell off the bar, but lucky I fell into somebody's arms.

"Are you alright?" I heard a man's voice ask. He sounded very familiar.

"Yes, I'm fine," I said. "Thank you for-" I stopped talking when I looked up. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. "Ben?" I said.

"Maeve," Ben said, putting me down. "What are you doing here?"

"Lacey and I finished college," I said. "We decided to take another trip to celebrate. I can't believe we're in the same place at the same time again!" Ben looked down at my hand and smiled.

"You're wearing it," he said. "The ring I gave you, you're still wearing it."

"I actually don't always wear it," I said. "But I found it before we left and something just made me feel like I should bring it with me." Ben smiled.

"Maybe it was fate," Ben said. "That you wore the ring and we both came here on the same night so I could tell you... I love you Maeve." I smiled happily.

"You do?" I asked.

"Since the moment I met you," he said. I smiled happily and jumped into Ben's arms, kissing him deeply.

"I don't want to lose you again," I said.

"You won't," Ben said. "This clearly means something. We were destined to be together, so we will be. I don't care if I have to move to the states, I'm never losing you again."

"Never again," I said with a smile. Ben kissed me passionately and I kissed him back. I was so happy I found him.
