Selene then drove to a place she has been before and we made our way into a scientific lab room and I gently placed David down on a bed as Selene went to look for something. I was looking away from David as he started taking off his shirt but looked up suddenly when he softly said my name. I saw that he was struggling to take off his shirt and that he needed my help so I slowly made my way over to him, his eyes following my every move. I stood in front of him and looked down at his shirt and then back in his eyes that were softly looking into my eyes. I then gripped the bottom of his shirt and slowly lifted his shirt up so it wouldn't hurt him, my hands grazed his defined abdomen and he tensed so I quickly stopped and glanced up at him to check to see if I had hurt him but when I didn't see pain in his eyes I focused back on taking off his shirt so I slowly lifted his shirt over his head and threw it to the side.

I tried not to stare at the well defined man sitting near me, but I couldn't help myself and glanced in his direction. My breathing slowed down in amazement as I saw his bare tan skin which showed off his muscular arms that had veins running down to his rough manly hands, his chest that was muscular which had slight hair covering his pecks, he had a 6 pack running down his stomach and my eyes moved down to take in his obvious v-line and the slight hair that covered the base of his abdomen showing a snail trail. My eyes snapped away from his god like body as I heard footsteps enter the room. I looked away in embarrassment before glancing at him, his face didn't show that he caught me but his eyes showed that he did as there was a playful glint in them.
Selene then made her way into the room so I stood out of the way next to David. She then walked over to David with a device in her hands and placed it over the healed wound. David then grunted in pain and placed his hand over mine. I snapped my eyes up at him and he just looked at the device. I turned my hand so that his hand was on my palm and he slowly intertwined his fingers into mine. My heart fluttered at the feeling of his rough hands intertwined with mine, I squeezed his hand in support as Selene told him to stay still. The device then beeped and David asked what it is. Selene then said "It's some sort of bullet. It's burrowing through you faster than you can heal. It's self propelled." I then looked at David in concern and squeezed his hand tighter in worry and he glanced at me but then turned and directed his words at Selene "That's what I was trying to tell you. These lycans are sophisticated." Selene then turned and grabbed a scalpel and I turned to David with concern in my eyes he caught my eyes and softly smiled at me. He then moved painfully to lie down on the bed, I went to move my hand from his thinking he'll need space but he just held onto it tighter and from the corner of my eye I could see his eyebrows were furrowed together in worry. I squeezed his hand in reassurance which somehow made the furrow in his brows disappear. Selene then said "I don't know if I can remove it in time." And she pushed the scalpel into David's skin. He flinched so I rested my free hand onto his muscly chest to stop him from moving. His eyes snapped to mine and they softened but then Selene grabbed some long tweezers and dug them in the cut so David eyes closed as he flinched. Selene removed the strange burrowing bullet from David and held it up so we could see and we saw that it was still moving as she held it up.
We then all moved to where Selene keeps her weapons so I grabbed two handguns that had silver bullets in them and placed them into the holsters on my thigh, I also grabbed two silver knives and places them into my boots for emergencies. However, I stopped when I heard the automated voice of the security repeating "Intruder". I quickly grabbed my silver whip and secured it around my arm before we made our way there. Once we found out the exact position the intruders were we went there and Selene silently knocked out a few of the people whilst I put a gun to the head of the one leading the way and said "Who sent you?" Suddenly someone came up behind me and held a gun to me but before I could turn around I heard David approach and say "Drop it" Probably aimed at the person behind me which made the corner of my lips lift up. The person my gun was aimed at turned around and pulled the hood down. It was a female vampire and David asked how she found us and she replied with "There are only a handful of safe houses left. The lycans made it rather easy. The council of the Eastern Coven sent me to bring you in." she said directed at Selene and I kept my gun pointed at her in case she tries anything. Selene, now beside me, asked if it would be for a trial and the vampire said "For your safety, and ours." I then rolled my eyes and spoke up "You cannot expect us to believe that." Selene then carried my sentence on by saying "Every single one of them signed my death warrant." The female vampire then looked at David and showed him a letter and said "This is from your father."
He walked towards my side and reached his hand out for the letter, his arm brushing mine as he took the letter. Selene asked him if it was authentic but I was still staring at the woman in my guns line of fire as I didn't trust her. David said "It's his seal, his handwriting. The council has offered you clemency and granted us all safe haven." I forcefully asked the woman "Why?" She then replied "Marius. It is the council's humble request that you both train us to defeat him and his army." I then furrowed my eyebrows and said "Me? Why?" she then said "We have kept track of you since you left and we know how you passed all of your problems with flying colours." I just glared at her when she said 'left' I didn't leave I was forced away but then I felt a soft hand on my waist and my breathing slowed, I turned to see David look at me with assurance so I grunted in displeasure as I dropped the gun that was aimed at the female vampire. Selene, David and I then moved back to the lab to discuss things. David said to both Selene and I "Look, I know both of you are reluctant but as guests of the council, we will be protected by law. My father wouldn't lie, and he holds no grudge. He had no love for Viktor, either." My jaw clenched angrily when he said 'Viktor' I hated him with a passion ever since the day he killed Selene and my parents I never forgave him that is why I was banished and forced to leave without Selene. Selene noticed because she grabbed my hand softly.
Suddenly the security alert blared out that there is an intruder. The female vampire then told us that it was lycans. She then said "We must leave." I looked at Selene in distress as I was scared of going back. David then spoke up and said "You both should accept the councils offer for Eve." Selene then replied by saying "Eve does not want our help." David then looked to me noticing I was more reluctant than Selene about leaving and said "I know you both want to protect her. And if we destroy Marius we destroy the greatest threat to her safety." I then looked at David and he nodded reassuringly so I sighed and nodded and Selene did the same. We all made our way up the stairs of the safe house.
We are now sitting in a car with the vampire woman. She was driving and Selene sat in the passenger seat to keep an eye on her. David and I were sitting in the back of the car and I was tapping my leg nervously whilst looking out the window. "Esmé" I heard David say softly so I turned towards him and hummed in response and he pointed towards my legs so I looked down and apologised softly before worriedly turning back to look at the window to see how far we were, I didn't notice that my leg started bouncing again. David then placed his hand on my thigh which made my breathing pick up and my leg stop bouncing I turned to face him and looked into his eyes and he smiled softly at me and said "You'll be fine I promise. I won't let anything happen to you." I looked into his brown eyes and he squeezed my thigh which made me less worried. I smiled up at him and looked down to intertwined our fingers together before I looked but up and saw a bright smile on his face. I then turned to look out of the window and felt him squeeze my hand to let me know that he was there.
