So, this chapter will stay in Brian's POV. It will have a flash back to his talk with Mary in the office and just give everyone an idea of what's going on in his head.
(POV-Brian. Flash back)
The door opened and Fred walked out with a small smile. "She's ready for you Brian." I gulped and stood up. "Where did the others go?" He asked giving me a worried look. "Um- they got sent home. They get to return tomorrow, but it's more of a calm down thing. Rogers still very shaken."
Fred shook his head and look down. "Alright. I'll see later?" I smiled and went to the room.
Relax Brian, it's just Mary. I gulped when she smiled up at me from her papers. I've known her since we were in university.
"Have a seat Brian." I smiled and sat in front of her desk. "Now I've dealt with the young students that started all this. I understand that Roger was only helping Veronica. And that John was only helping Roger." She folded her hands and sighed.
"I sent them home because Roger seemed -off." I blinked worried now. "Why-is he right?" It came out before I could stop it. She looked me over. "He will be, yes."
I relaxed a little."Brian, I wanted to talk with you about something. Not really concerning this fight. It's something I've noticed lately."
I just shook my head. "Now- I know that your finishing up with the divorce."
"Finally!" She smirked at me. "Sorry for interrupting." I added with a grin. She just giggled feeling the same way Fred did about it all and my soon to be ex. "No- it's fine. And your right, your finally almost finished with it."
"I know that you've been struggling a lot because of your soon to be ex-wife, and I feel like-." She paused taking a breath.
"I know you Brian. I know that your a caring, loving and honest man- a great man!" I looked up at her very confused now.
"You just need to be careful. I've noticed that you've grown very close to Ro-a student." Oh no! I thought we've been so careful.
"But I'm confused because- your not gay. I mean all the time I've know you- a very long time- you've only been with- but then again I thought Fred was straight." She smirked messing with her hair.
"Brian." She took my hand in hers. "I just need you to be carful. Technically the student your with is legal age to be with. But the university has a rule. A very big rule, that no stundents and teachers can be together. I don't want you to get fired- or Roger suspended. He's a bright kid, and I'm only looking out for the both of you. I don't have any proof or anything. No one eles ever knows, but you need to distance yourself and end whatever thing you have going on with him. I just needed to talk with you because, if something is proven- well then I can't stop what would happen to either of you. I can't lose this this job myself Brian. I- Do you understand?"
I gulped, shooking my head. I gwt get Mary fired. "That's all I wanted." I stood up and stared for the door. "And Brian, I hope you know I'm only looking out for you." I shook my head with a small smile, before leaving the office.
(End flash back)
The lightning lite up my untouched cup, of now cold tea. I got this place to be away from her- and have my own space again. When I found it I was so excited to share it with Roger. I was planning on asking him to just move in with me.
But after what Mary said- I feel all the 'this is wrong' feelings again. I love him, I really love Roger Meddows Taylor, but maybe things would be best if-
