It was 12 in the afternoon and San has just arrived at the library for his work shift. He walks up to the wooden desk and greets his friend, Wooyoung, also another worker at the library.
"Hey Woo!" San waves at the purple haired male.
"Hey San!"
"Ready to start your shift?"
"Yea,"
"We need to hang out soon!" San proposes, the boy agreeing with his suggestion.
"Is Tuesday after my shift okay?"
"Yeah..." Wooyoung looks at his watch, "oh, I gotta hurry! I have to meet up with Yunho!"
Wooyoung quickly readies his things and heads out the door, not forgetting to say goodbye to his best friend.
Wooyoung and San have been friends forever. They be with each other all the time, almost as if they were attached by string; wherever San was Wooyoung was too; wherever Wooyoung was San was too.
In their high school years, San landed the job at the library. San slowly started to spend less time with Wooyoung because of this as well as school. One day, there was a job opening for a second shift at the library and Wooyoung instantly applied for it, receiving the job right after. Wooyoung was satisfied with the job as it allowed him to spend more time with his best friend.
San drops his bag down by the chair and plops down, his head dropping onto his hands propping it up.
He looks around the library like he has done many times before, but notices something different. A small, brown haired boy with a red beanie sits curled up on a purple chair. The chair was usually never occupied, so it surprised him to see someone there.
The boy's hair was pulled back by his beanie, revealing his forehead. Despite this, he still had a cute aura about him. Small wisps fall from the side and frame his face softly only adding to his cuteness. Small smiles appeared here and there as he read his book.
San knew those smiles. They were Yeosang's.
His bored expression melts into a soft smile at the sight of the familiar boy. Seeing him mouth along to the words on the page and chuckle every once in a while made him feel something inside. The same feeling he usually gets when he reads his romance stories.
San continues to stare at the boy fondly, a smile constantly on his face.
Soon enough, Yeosang starts to pack his stuff up. San had to play the "I totally wasn't staring at you" game once again when Yeosang walks over to the library desk.
"Do you like romances?" Yeosang pipes.
"Me?" San asks, looking up from his book.
"Yeah, you asked if I liked them, so I was wondering if you did too,"
"Oh! Yeah! I do!" San speedily replies.
"You should read this book! It's one of my favorites," Yeosang says as he hands over a book to San. His heart swells right when he looks at it.
"I hope you like it!"
Yeosang and San say bye to each other right before Yeosang pops in his earphones and heads out the door.
San smiles as he looks down at the book. Little did Yeosang know, that very book was one of San's favorites too.
Secret unlocked:
One of my favorites
