Sorry for the delay again. I've been struggling a lot to write lately. And this close to the end too. I'll try to finish this up quickly. Enjoy
———————————————————————The person that was following Clem and Violet stared at the barn from a distance. Noticing that the walkers were still trying to get in, they figured that the two hadn't left it yet. They go to march towards it, but stop and collapse to their knees. They reach for a wound on their back, which had bled heavily through their jacket. Ignoring the pain, they stand back up, and head for the barn.
Inside the barn, Violet looks over at Clem. "I have no fucking clue how to get out." "Yeah. Me too." Clem sits on a hay bale. "I need a minute." "Take your time.." "I don't have much time left to take, but I need this." Violet sighs. "Okay. I'll try and figure a way out."
Violet checks around the barn, finding nothing of use to them, minus walker corpses. "We could try sneaking through covered again." "We can do it, as long as I don't pass out in the middle of the herd." "Good enough. It's our best bet." "Alright." Clem stands up. "I'll gut one." She walks over and kneels in front of a walker body. She tries to drive the axe into the chest, but the weight of it gets the better of her, and she hits the head instead. "Fuck!" She falls on top of the body. "Shit. You okay?" "No. I'm not. I'm out of energy to do anything." "Shit. I'll do it." Violet grabs the axe and pulls it out of the head. She drives it into the chest, tearing it open.
Outside the barn, the person had killed a walker and dragged it away from the herd. They tore its chest open, and covered themselves, determined to get the two inside. Once they were covered, they walked over and entered the herd from the back, slowly making their way to the barn door.
Inside, Violet had finished covering herself, while Clem slowly stopped halfway. "Why'd you stop?" Clem stares for a minute, deep in thought, before she shakes her head. "Sorry. Dazed off." She went back to covering herself. "You didn't look dazed." "Well, I was, okay? Bite, plus lack of blood." "Sure..." She watches Clem, not convinced. Clem helps herself stand with the axe once she finishes. "Come on, you gotta hurry and get back." "You're coming with me." Violet stands as well. "I know, and I'll be able to die once you make it back to the others safely." "...So, you don't even wanna try saving yourself?" "It's already too late." "But-" "AJ's gone. You're all I have left. And I'm not letting you die before me."
Clem looks around the barn. "We could climb over the pile of hay, and get out the back. Use the guts to sneak past any walkers." Violet nods. "I like it. Let's do it." Clem starts to climb up the pile of hay, and Violet shortly follows after. Clem reaches the top, when the barn doors start to open. "What the..? How'd they open the door?!" She asks. Violet looks back at the door. "No time. Move your ass!" Clem then jumps to the ground, collapsing. "Goddammit!" Violet climbs over and jumps down, landing on her feet. She helps Clem to her feet, and grabs the axe. Clem tries to walk on her own, but stumbles into the wall. "Fuck..." Violet then wraps an arm around Clem to help her stand, and kicks the back door open, letting walkers pour into the barn. "Stay calm, and we can make it." She yells Clem. They both slowly walk into the herd of walkers, hoping not to be eaten.
At the front of the barn, the person pushes the barn doors open all the way, letting the walkers inside. Ignoring them, since they're covered in guts, they look around, noticing Clem and Violet were already gone. "Dammit." She mutters to herself, grabbing her knife and plunging it into a walker's head in rage. "I was so close." She notices the walkers climbing the other side of the hay bay pile. "Maybe I still am." She pulls the knife out and climbs up the pile.
Violet walks slowly through the herd, holding onto Clem. Once they got out, she sped up, even though Clem couldn't walk on her own anymore and was
weighing her down. "Alright, the school isn't that far from here. We can make it before the sun goes down again, and then the others can help you before it's too late." Violet tells Clem. "Vi...We talked about this already." "I know, but dammit, I can't accept that! I just can't! I don't know how you can give up so fucking easily, but I won't!" Clem just smiles in response. Violet stops walking when she sees her. "The fuck? Why are you smiling?! You can't be happy about this!"
