I suddenly woke up. The room was still dark, so I hadn't slept for long.
I slowly stood up, exiting the bedroom. I creeped down the steps and into the living room. Copper and Dove were sleeping.
I peeked out a window through the boards and found a car. My heart jumped to my throat and tears fell down my cheeks.
I found the hammer from earlier and started to take the boards off the doors. It was loud, but I didn't care. I just needed to escape.
Heavy footsteps came pounding down the stairs. I continued to hack away at the door, only stopping when I was thrown to the floor.
There was a reasonable hole in the door now. Oh, and an angry Peter above me.
"Help!" I screamed, hoping the people in the car would hear me.
Peter straddled me and wrapped his hands around my throat.
"I'm going to make you pass out, and then I'm going to lock you in a basement!"
I clawed at Peter's hands. "Someone, help!" I choked out. Peter squeezed harder.
The door swung open and Peter let go of me. He bolted up the stairs and then he was gone. I held my throat and gasped for air.
Someone grabbed my arm and hoisted me up. I looked up to see bright green eyes.
"I'm Liam," he said. "I'm going to get you out of here." It all seemed unreal. After all this time, I was finally free.
It all went by so fast. We got Copper and Dove and then I was in a car. Liam handed me a coat and I gladly put it on.
There was another detective as well. Liam was the more attractive one. He had piercing green eyes and almost black hair. Chad, on the other hand, had a beard, blonde hair and blue eyes. But hey, Dove seemed to like him.
"I'll pay for a house for you, or at least help with rent."
"Thank you," I whispered.
Liam just nodded.
~~~
I laid in my bed, happy to finally be safe. Liam gave me his number, and we talked a little. I had Copper in my bed, too. Dove was sleeping on my couch and Liam was outside in a cop car.
But... where did Peter go?
(Sorry for the short chapter!)
