Louis skips down the street after primary school. He has no worries, because what is there to worry about when you're six years old?
The boy lives in Doncaster - one of the few cities where there are more hybrids than werewolves. The werewolves living here are all friendly and don't treat the hybrids as any less, like a lot of wolves do.
Most of the werewolves - especially alphas - think of hybrids as less, because they are never fully human and a lot can't transform into their animal part.
Louis is a cat-hybrid, making him even more rare, because the cat gene is recessive. That means, when a cat-hybrid gets babies with a - for example - fox-hybrid, babies will be fox-hybrids as well. There is a possibility of the babies being cat-hybrids, when the fox-hybrid has the cat gene in them. It's basic genetic theory, really.
He was an only child until his sister Charlotte was born two years after him - she is now four. They have different dads - Louis' died in a car accident when he was one. Charlotte's father - Mark - is a deer-hybrid, making Charlotte a deer-hybrid as well, with cat-DNA.
Louis loves his little sister and would do everything in his power to protect her. He especially loves her little deer ears sticking out of her brown hair.
So the boy has a great life. A happy life. He loves his family and the city he lives in.
But all of that changes as he skips home from primary school as a six year old, worrying about nothing but maybe his homework.
