"We are the inheritors of a wonderful world, a beautiful world, full of life and mystery, goodness and pain. But likewise are we the children of an indifferent universe. We break our own hearts imposing our moral order on what is, by nature, a wide web of chaos."
 Colin Meloy

Perturbed and worrisome murmurs resounded through the crowd of distraught and confused teenagers, who littered the grassy patch in the center of the town. Many were clutching their mobile phones sanguinely, attempting desperately to reach loved ones, eyes latched onto the illuminated screens, waiting for a reply or a response. None came. Ripplings of panic were beginning to ensue.  Arriving within the hysteria, Grizz's hand did not release its unrelenting hold on Tess', worried that he would lose her within the crowd, and that it provided a distraction from him thinking about the ascertained whereabouts of his family members. It would appear however, that he was not alone in his plight. Craning on her tip toes, Tess tried to peer over the masses of distraught teens, hoping to catch a glimpse of her brother within the madness. Unsurprisingly, the jacketed trio were not difficult to spot, standing cross armed and uncaring in the center of the cluster. Without voicing a word, Tess careened Grizz in that direction, sidestepping everyone within her path. Recognizing the familiar head of hair making its way through the crowd, Luke nudged Clark next to him, who only seconds before was worryingly scanning the onslaught of people desperately hoping to catch a glimpse of his sister; anxious that she too would vanish, much like the entirety of the entire town. Clark released a sigh of relief and stumbled forward, uncaring that he was pushing roughly past people around him, parting them from his path. Within a few steps of her, Clark bent forward and wrapped his arms securely around his sister's waist, her fingers slipping from Grizz's hold. Tess squealed in surprise as her brother spun her around, receiving odd looks from those around them. Once the dizziness began to seep in, her feet finally managed to secure themselves to solid ground, however Clark didn't release her from the confines of his chest. Although it had only been around an hour until he had last seen her, on reaching both Luke's and Jason's home, realizing that the populous of West Ham had disappeared, he wanted nothing more than to seek out his sister to ensure that she was safe. After a few moments, he released his sister, and upon realizing the attention that they were receiving, his robust and unyielding persona returned; he laughed boisterously and ruffled the hair upon Tess' head, which left her rather disgruntled. Stepping away from his sister, he greeted Grizz with a slap of the hand and a one armed bump of the chest. Both, Jason and Luke stepped forward then to cradle her within their arms, sighing with relief.

"Where were you guys?" Jason questioned, staring at the two, "we were beginning to worry".

"Checked out the house, no one's there man", Grizz replied, only receiving solemn nods in response. Luke and Jason responded with the same news, both nodding their heads sadly and retelling the events of finding their homes empty, with no trace of anyone ever being there. Stepping closer to her brother, Tess surrounded his upper bicep with her hand.
