"Jane!"

We were running late for the party. I could see the cab I booked was waiting for us. If we couldn't get in for 5 minutes, he'll cancel the ride.

"You girls are surely slow." I heard the uber driver mumbling in annoyance.

Jane rolled her eyes as she sat up properly while I try to calm her down. "We're sorry!" The driver didn't bother to look at us and drove towards the venue. The evening was a bit gloomy but it didn't stopped my overly excited mood. Jane paid for the uber out of her respect for being late.

"We can still split the fare you know?"

The uber left us but Jane just insisted on paying it. I sighed and agreed with her as we got in the venue. The place was extravagant for me, I felt out of place. Jane held my hand firmly and went to the main table to get our names written. "Are we going to see Rae Lin?" I asked Jane but she was also unsure too.

"Girls!" Rae Lin's mother found us by the door. "Good evening auntie." We both bowed down.

"You two look stunning! Please have seat while you wait for Rae Lin." She lead us to an empty table near the family area. "Wait? I wished Rae Lin would send us to her room.. I kinda wanted to see her in a gown." Jane mumbled.

My phone vibrated suddenly. I opened it up and smile lingered between my lips.

"That's  a big smile on your face there hun." Jane teased as she was staring at me for long.

"He just texted." I coughed as I looked away. "Ooh? Texted? I get it." Jane chuckled. She knew very well how I get shy every time Jeno comes into the scene. The lights dimmed which startled everyone in the venue. Spotlights flashed towards the entrance doors as it was slowly opened by butlers.

"Let us welcome Rae Lin!"

Everybody flashed their phones at the celebrant. She wore a puffy pink gown with flowers. She looked like a princess tonight and I'm happy she's beautiful on her birthday.

She smiled at us as she went to the stage and sat on the a pretty pink sofa. The party was extravagant and everyone I know in school was here—Donghyuck was the only representative of the Dreamies since he never rejects parties.

"Donghyuck, where are the other 3?" Jane was the first one to ask. He puts down his cola and sighed. "Renjun got council duties, Jeno doesn't like parties and Jaemin has a family emergency." Sharp answer from Donghyuck himself.

"You seemed the carefree one of the 4." Jane muttered.

"Would you date me?" He cheekily grins.

"I'm like you, I like girls too." Jane chuckles as he winked.

"Did Lee Donghyuck got rejected?" I teased.

"Shut up." He was not expecting that answer.

The wind from the open area of the venue blew hard. "Looks like it's going to pour out later." Jane looked at the windows, the dark clouds began to form. "You should call Jeno, I doubt uber would respond quick to customers during rainy hours at night." Donghyuck suggested.

"So you could get a free ride?" I looked at him.

"Idiot, I live near here." He frowned.

"Oh. Sorry." I bow down my head.

"Areum." I heard my name being called over the microphone. I turned around to see Rae Lin smiling. "She's my first friend in high school. I'm glad to have her." Such sweet words, she stepped down the stage and grabbed my hand. We went out to the open area just few steps before the main road. Her other friends were also there, holding cams.

"I wanted to do something special for my friend." She smiled which it bothered me.

The clouds became darker as rain drop slowly pour on us. "You stole Jeno from me."

"Rae Lin.."

"I'm just kidding." She said sweetly as she dragged me to a car with other people from school. "Where are we going?" I asked her as she whispered to the driver. "Just a round trip for my guests." It sounded a bit off. We drove to a nearby inconvenience store to get some snacks. Weird but okay.

Just the minute I went out of the store, Soda drinks were spilled on my dress. The kids I went with were the bitchy ones from school. "Oh my." Rae Lin got out...

then she just pushed me on the ground.

Her other friends proceeded on kicking me or pulling my hair apart. It was torture—I had too much bruises on my skin like patches.

"What the?" I couldn't believe what was happening.

The rain poured down. I couldn't get up because I twisted my ankle from falling. "Serves you right, snake." She kicks my injured leg before getting in her car. Her friends followed. I winced in pain as I tried to sit up and leaned by the ledge. I realized my phone and things were with Jane. I couldn't contact anyone right now. My body felt weak like a withering flower.

The rain tasted bitter and I'm alone.

The door opened behind me and I heard a gasp. When I turned around, there was no one.
