As the sun sets, the average every day teenage boy Austin Thomas is in his bedroom as he listens to music and tells his friend, Nicole Smith, as the pair are on FaceTime to one another "I really hope they continue on with the Scream franchise because I misses Ghostface and think a continuation of one of the best horror-mystery films is what the Horror genre needs right now. The horror genre is trash right now.

Movie studios are firing out films like the remake of IT and the audience are just eating it up, calling it quote 'The best film ever made'. It's not even scary. It's just people have a fear of clowns. That's the only horror aspect of it.

Take away Pennywise and you're left with what? A supernatural adventure film. To me, it doesn't say horror one bit. Yet it's being called one of the best horror films of all time. People are crazy, really crazy".

Nicole replies "Damn, that monologue was totally unexpected. Just kidding, I know you're a horror fanatic and everything, but a continuation of Scream just doesn't seem realistic right now, you know? With Wes Craven's death and what not. Plus, they have the TV series now. Well, they did.

The first two seasons were rocky, but then when they left it on a cliffhanger and rebooted the show for season three, it really annoyed audience. If anything, they should do a continuation of the first two seasons of the TV series because fans want to know what happened. The movies didn't leave loose ends unlike the TV series".

Austin tells Nicole "You're probably right. Sidney Prescott should rest now. Sis has been through a lot. Emma Duval however, her story's not over and they should continue the TV series just to tie up the loose ends.

You know how I hate cliffhangers that are never answered. But if MTV or VH1, or whoever holds the rights to the TV series now, decides to continue on the first two seasons to tie up the Lakewood, then we are definitely watching it together.

Hell, we can even drag Nathan out with us to watch it because maybe it'll make him finally like horror and we can have these very talks with him involved".

Nicole chuckles and admits that she's glad Austin agrees with her, and watching it together, if it ever does actually come out, sounds like a good idea. She adds that Nathan is too involved with football to care about anything else; everything right now is about him getting his scholarship.

Before Austin can reply to Nicole, his phone dings and alerts him of a text message. He opens his phone and checks his texts only to find a threatening message from an unknown number that reads "End the call now, or your house goes up in flames. Don't believe me? Look outside your window".

Austin glances at the text and tells Nicole, who asks if he's okay, that he has to go. Before she can say anything else, he hangs up. He rushes over to is window and takes a peak outside his bedroom window, muttering to himself "I know I want Horror to be good again, but I didn't mean for it to be in real life". He looks around and spots GHOSTFACE from SCREAM with a blood stained buck-knife emerge from the shadows of his darkly-lit front lawn.

Unsure on what is happening right in front of his eyes, Austin just stares at the costumed villain, who points their knife at Austin as if he intends to make him his victim. Ghostface tosses his knife to the ground and unmasks himself.

As the mask is removed, Austin quickly recognizes the laugh coming from the person behind it; it's his best friend Sean Hayes, who chants and chuckles "I pranked you bitch, I got you! You looked scared as shit".

Austin rolls his eyes and says "Sean, that wasn't funny. I'll get ya back for that!". He closes the window and runs downstairs to let Sean in the house. Upon letting Sean in the house, Austin's father Harry Thomas greets him and asks Sean if he's here to watch Child's Play with Austin. Sean confirms he is. Austin asks his father how he knows they intended to watch Child's Play. Harry reminds Austin that he mentioned it during dinner.

Smiling, Austin tells his father that he's proud of him for remembering something as small as that, something that he (Austin) forgot about. Harry replies "My memory seems to be getting better and better these days. Hopefully soon I'll be able to remember parts of my early life too".

Austin hugs his father and says he'll talk to him later as he heads upstairs with Sean, who asks "How did your dad lose his memory, again?". As Austin reminds Sean, the scene sinks into a flashback of a younger Austin.

Austin, around 12 or 13 at this point, calls out to his mother and father that he's home but gets no response. Deciding to investigate the silence, Austin looks around downstairs but finds nobody home. He decides to check upstairs but is greeted by an awful sight upon arriving at the stairs; his father's unconscious body having fell down the stairs. Austin quickly calls an ambulance as Ashley Thomas, his mother, walks in and sees what's happened.

Back in present day, Austin has finished telling Sean, who is saddened for Austin having to discover that. Austin admits that he thought his dad died that day, and he almost did due to suffering brain damage due to the fall.

Sean asks how Harry even fell down the stairs, as Austin has never actually said. An emotional Austin admits that he found one of his shoes next to Harry so he must've tripped over it or something; therefore it's all his fault

Sean tells Austin "It's not his fault bro, you shouldn't think like that. Maybe the dog put it there or something, and that's how he tripped? Or maybe he didn't trip on your shoe and tripped on nothing. People do that sometimes, in fact I tripped and fell on my way up the stairs earlier after I got home from school".

Austin tells Sean he's right and decides to place the thought and the guilt at the back of his mind. As they enter Austin's bedroom, Austin apologizes for the mess; claiming that he couldn't find anything to wear for school earlier. Sean chuckles and tells Austin that he doesn't have to explain the mess because his (Sean's) bedroom is probably worse. The two boys laugh as they sit down on Austin's bed and turn on the movie.

Sean tells Austin he forgot to turn off the lights which Austin sighs at. Sean jokingly calls him grumpy, to which Austin responds "I'll show ya grumpy in a minute when I whoop your ass". Sean laughs and tells him to bring it. The two teenage boys proceed to play fight.

Downstairs, Ashley and Harry are watching the news as they hear the noise. They look at one another. Harry asks if they're having sex upstairs or something. Ashley chuckles and says "if they are, I hope they're using protection".
