Halfbloods at Hogwarts

Chapter 10:

                School is such a drag. I remember helping Billy Corgan write "1979". Then, I performed with him and the rest of  The Smashing Pumpkins. This school though, isn't nearly as fun as doing that. I sighed, and looked up to the teacher, Professor McGonagall, "Know students, transfiguration is a skill you all need to master. Can anyone tell me what it is?" she said. Hermione and Annabeths hands immedatly shot up. She smiled. "Ms Chase?" she said. Annabeth flipped her ponytail back, and said, "Tranfiguration is a dangerous and complex type of magic. It is the art of changing the form or appearance of  an object or person." Professor McGonagall gave a small nod, but was clearly impressed. "Very good. 10 points for Ravenclaw." she said. Hermione glared icily at Annabeth, and Annabeth smirked back at her. Of course. The two Know-It-Alls competing with each other. They continued this through Charms, History of Magic, and Astronomy. They tried in Herbology, but Meg exceled in that. I walked out of Herbology, next to Will and Nico. "What class are we going to next?" I asked. Will shrugged and Nico rolled his eyes at Zeus knows what. I certenly hadn't done anything. "Care of Magical Creatures." he said. Will smiled. "My smart little-" he began, but when Nico gave him a look he stopped and then said, "Bean. My smart little bean." "Bean? What the fuck." Nico said. Will nodded looking pleased with himself. "Yes, Bean, that's your new nickname." he said. "Fine. If I'm Bean, you're... Tomato." Nico said smirking. "Tomato? Excuse me?" Will exclaimed. Nico laughed and grinned at him. "Okay so, if you're Bean, and Will is Tomato, what does that make me?" I asked them. "Ummmm...Squash." Will said. "Explain." Nico said. " 'cause he's yellow-y." Will said.  "What the fuck." Nico said again. We arrived in front of a little hut, and a big giant like guy walked out of it and waved at us. " 'ello students!" he said. I glanced over at the demigods to see what they thought of this guy. Nico's eyes were wide as he stared down the dude. Will and Percy both looked a little like how I felt. Not sure what to think. Annabeth cocked her head to the side, and was frowning deeply. Hazel was whispering with Hermione, and when Frank grabbed her hand, she looked at him and blushed. Aww, how cute! Meg had her arms crossed over her chest, glaring at pretty much everyone and everything.  Piper was giggling with that blonde Slytherin boy, and Leo was (again) playing with fire. I turned back to the teacher. "My name is Hagrid, and in this class, you will learn about taking care of magical creatures." he said. I rolled my eyes at this. "Well duh!" said a voice from the back. Will yawned, rested his head on to Nico's. By the look on Nico's face, I assumed he did that a lot. Probably because Nico is short. Hagrid cleared his throat. "Um, anyway, I have a creature here for you guys to look at...'old one one 'econd. " he said. He walked in to his hut, and came back out holding what looked like a tortise with jewels on it's back. "This is a fire crab." Hagrid said. "It can shoot fire out of it's rear end when he's attacked." Hagrid went on. "Any questions?" he asked us. To my suprise Leo put his hand up.  "Where can Fire Crabs be found in the wild?" Leo asked. Hagrid beamed. "Good question. In Fiji." he said. "And can they be kept as pets?" Leo added. "They can with a licence." Hagrid said. "Can we touch it?" Hazel asked. "Sure, just be careful. Don't get to close to it's backside." Hagrid replied. We all crowded around it, reaching out to feel the cool gems on its back. It poked it's little head out, and when it saw all of us around it, it freaked out, and shot fire. Luckily, it was only Leo standing behind it. Everyone screamed, and backed away, and Hagrid rushed over to help Leo. But Leo calmly put out the fire, and winked at some random Hufflepuff girl.  "I'm cool ya'll. I get randomly set on fire all the time." Leo said. Hagrid picked up the Fire Crab, and said, "Erm, maybe we should put this lil' guy away. Class dismissed." Hagrid walked back in to his hut, and our group turned to Leo. "Real smooth." Piper said, patting Leo's arm. He gave us a grin and shrugged. "What can I say? I'm kinda a rebel like that." he said. I honestly wonder how he isn't one of mine. I never get the cool kids. I get people like Octavian!
