My head was spinning, my throat was dry and my entire body ached. To top it all off, someone was shouting.
"SHE RAN INTO THE ROAD!"
"Well she was running from you!" Her voice was quieter than the first person but still as firm as ever.
I opened my eyes slightly as I groaned. Someone had hold of my hand.
"Hey. How's my baby-girl?" His voice was deep with sleep. I turned to find my Dad smiling sympathetically. His expression changed as a hand appeared on my shoulder.
"Take. Your. Hand. Off. My. Daughter. Now." He growled. The hand instantly moved away.
Though my throat was dry and raspy I attempted to talk.
"Water." Luckily they understood what I'd said and was soon presented with a glass of clear refreshing aqua. After 5 or 6 glasses of water my voice was back to normal.
"Ugh! What's that smell?" Guess my sense of smell still works.
"Two week stalker." The female voice came from Katie, who was sat cross legged on the floor. " He's refusing to go home until he knows you're safely home. He hasn't left that seat for the last two weeks." My phone went off. Reaching over to pick it up, I realized my left arm was potted from the base of my fingers to the middle of my upper arm. The phone went to voicemail. I stared at my arm as the door slammed shut. The person who had just entered said something but I wasn't paying attention.
"OK, who's idea was this? You all know I hate pink." Katie chuckled from her seat on the floor and pointed to a red faced May. She gave an embarrassed wave and nervously smiled. I shook my head, smirking at her.
Then I looked around the white room. Dad was sat in an armchair, Katie was still sat cross legged on the floor, Matthew stood in the shadows of a corner and May planted herself at the end of my bed. Just then Mum walked in. Her eyes lit up a she saw me.
"Oh thank god, you're awake!" Her eyes darted to the shadowy corner where Matthew was stood hiding. "And what are you still here for? She's awake, so you can clear off now. Go on. Get out of here."
Matthew's POV
I stood, refusing to move, cowering in the corner. I had to know why she'd run, I couldn't leave without talking to her without her parents there.
What were they blaming me for? Why would she be running from me?
"Mum, don't you dare tell him to leave! He's got some major explaining to do without you eavesdropping!" Her voice was frighteningly harsh towards her mother as her eyes glared at the side of my face. I slowly turned my head to face her. If it were humanly possible she'd have smoke pluming from ears. I didn't want to be left alone with her while she was in this mood. If looked could kill, I'd be six foot under already.
"What did you think you were doing? If you wanted to eat Abigail's face off, you should've asked her to prom instead of breaking my heart... Again!" Her voice was still harsh but she remained calm. Her words spun round my head and confused me.
"Wh-what? No you've got it wrong! She... She came onto me. I never meant to hurt you." My mind flashed back to the day she first found out I was dating Abby. 3 years ago.
Looking down into those sapphire eyes, I felt weak.
'The bastard's replaced me!" She screamed and it broke my heart.
"Gabby, it's been over a year. Drop it. He never wanted you in the first place."
"Matthew." Her voice brought me out of my day dream, "You're still with her, aren't you?" Her voice cracked, but was gone again just as quick. "That's why she was all over you at prom, isn't it? You know, you don't have to lie anymore. Why did I let you back into my life anyway? Just go home"
