Jack paced the hallway for two hours now, unable to sit still long enough without moving his leg or running a nervous hand through his hair. His shoes were probably making scuff marks in on the white floors of the hospital and god knows he was annoying most of the people who waited with him. The nurses had actually checked on him to make sure he wasn’t going to hyperventilate into a frenzy the first hour.

Hiccup watched his closest friend running a hole into the ground, shaking his head. Though he was not in his position, he knew that the man was over reacting. Jack wasn’t one for sitting back and doing nothing but because of his job, he barely made it to the hospital without running someone over. Rapunzel happened to be at his and Merida’s house when her water broke.

"Ya have ta breathe, Punzie." Merida said, holding her friends hand as she walked the blonde to the car. The blonde laughed but winced, one hand on her belly and the other holding onto the red head as she waddled her way to back seat.

"I am breathing, Mer. It’s just a little.." she winced, "discomfort."

"Oh man, Frost bite is gonna be pissed." the friend mumbled, knowing the chaos that had yet to ensue at the hands of the pale husband. Rapunzel laughed, sliding into the backseat carefully.

Both women knew that Jack had taken to being a father rather well. After the initial shock and fear of failing as a father, he had fallen into over protective doting husband role easily. Which meant any time Rapunzel winced or asked for something, he was on it. While he did have his moments where he wasnt allowing her to do anything, Rapunzel had convinced him that she was safe with Merida and Hiccup.

Merida had quickly became her work out buddy and Hiccup was on daddy duty which meant soothing Jack’s fears. It also meant that while in the last trimester of her pregnancy, Hiccup and Merida was forced to have a ‘baby bag’ ready in case ‘it was time’.

That actually became handy.

"Hiccup! Move yer arse!" she called out the door.

"Hold on! Im coming!" Hiccup called, fumbling with his keys animatedly while holding the suitcase of prepared clothes in his other hand.

"Hiccup!"

"Hold on, dammit!"

Finally the door locked and the brunette raced to the car, quickly getting into the drivers seat and tossing the bag onto the passenger seat. He started the car and pulled out of the drive way, heading straight to the nearest hospital.

"Took ya long enough." Merida said, rolling her blue eyes at him.

"Hey, negative energy." he retorted, using words from Jack’s baby book. Rapunzel let out a couple of breaths and held onto the Merida’s hand tighter.

"I’ll shouw ya negative energy when we have ta deliver tha babe in—"

"Uh guys?"

"—back seat."

"All Im saying is that—"

"Guys!"

All eyes looked to her, the blonde gave a strained smile,

"She’s wants out—" she sucked in a breath before holding her belly, "like now!"

Hiccup and Merida got her to the hospital and the nurses took over from there. They were informed to phone the husband because pretty much Rapunzel’s body decided that it was done carrying the little girl and she was coming soon. Hiccup immediately started to call Jack’s work while Merida informed Rapunzel’s family and some other friends.
