Chapter 34

A/N: OKAY TIME FOR THE CLIMAX!!! 3, 2, 1, GO!!!

When they arrived at the sixth floor, they felt a rather cold breeze. "Why's it so chilly here??" Yoruichi asked, pulling her coat tighter around her. "Oh look!! Ice Palace!! This floor's for ice skating!!" Soifon said excitedly. "Oh nice!! It'd be super fun!! Let's go!!" Yoruichi said, and the two rushed toward the ice skating ground. They decided to buy a two-hour ticket since there were quite many facilities to enjoy inside.

"Wow! We can also do indoor skiing here!! And there're also ice slides!! Brilliant!!" Yoruichi shouted as they entered the Ice Palace. They decided to start off by ice skating, and when Yoruichi finished changing to her blades, she noticed something wrong with Soifon. "What's the matter??" Yoruichi asked. "W-Well... I don't know... how to ice skate..." Soifon muttered, her face going red again. Yoruichi forced back a small laugh and approached her. "Wow, there's actually something that you can't do." She thought amusedly.

"It'll be fine! I'll teach you how to do it!!" Yoruichi said, smiling, reaching out her hand. Soifon's face brightened up at this and nodded. She quickly changed into the blades and followed Yoruichi to the skating ground. Yoruichi got onto the ice first and swirled back in a circle, reaching out both her hands. "Come, Soifon." She said, smiling, and Soifon took her hands and stepped apprehensively onto the ice. Her legs slipped a little and she stumbled onto Yorichi. "S-Sorry!! This's much more slippery than I'd expected!!" Soifon said hastily, clinging to Yoruichi's shoulders and arms.

Yoruichi's mind went momentarily blank but she snapped back considerably faster this time. "No worries no worries, watch your step. Try to stand still first." Yoruichi said, feeling her face going hot. Soifon finally steadied her feet several moments later, looking pleased. "Okay, now, try to move your feet like this." Yoruichi said as she showed her the motions of her feet. Soifon nodded and tried to do the same. "Great! You're doing well! Keep it up! I'll always catch you if you fall." Yoruichi said, and Soifon nodded again, moving slightly faster this time.

Soon, Soifon mastered the basics and was able to move without holding Yoruichi's arm. "Wow this is cool! It's a shame that it doesn't snow in Karakura town, or I could've learned it sooner." Soifon said jokingly, and Yoruichi laughed. "We can come here anytime we want now that we've discovered this place." She said. The two then skated side by side for another hour, chatting and laughing and recalling the fun things they'd experienced up to this point.

"Hm, they look really happy." Hitsugaya said as he took a bit of amanatto, his favorite snack. "Yeah, they do." Hinamori said, smiling. The two were sitting at the window of the Ice Palace Cafe that was located a bit higher than the skating ground, giving them a clear view of the people skating on the ice. Hinamori chuckled suddenly, and Hitsugaya's eyes fell upon her again. "What is it that's so funny?" He asked. "Well, I was just imagining what the two might do." She said, taking a sip of her peach cider. "Considering their hobbies and interests, it might be quite amusing." She said, still smiling widely. "Well, guess you're right." Hitsugaya said, chuckling as well.

"Well, what do you say we go get some ice cream later??" Hitsugaya said, taking out some coupons from his pocket. "I happen to have some extra ones." He said. "Mou, Shiro-chan, we're in the middle of winter now!" Hinamori said with a defeated smile. "I know you like cold things a lot but it's not the time for ice cream now!" She said. "I don't really care honestly." He said, smirking. "Oh, you." Hinamori gave in, getting up from the seat, and the two left the cafe, walking hand in hand.

Meanwhile, Yoruichi and Soifon finished ice skating and decided to do some other on-ice activities. "Let's try that one!!" Yoruichi said, pointing at an ice slide where people in pairs slide down the slope on a rubber boat. "Okay." Soifon said, and the two went to the ice slide. It was soon their turn, and the two looked down from the highest point. "It's kinda high up here, and looking closely now, the slope is also quite steep..." Soifon muttered. "Next, please." The worker called, and the two took their rubber boat and sat down in it.
