It Just Took Five Minutes....

A week later
Once the moon had taken down his indigo backdrop to sink into a reflecting bed of ocean to begin his deep slumber, the sun had risen from this same bed with her sapphire scenery to begin her vast awakening; rays stretching over every breathing aspect of the world before sneaking their way into my window to let me know too that morning has come. Fluttering open, my eyes bestowed upon the icy blue walls that were illuminated by the morning light while shadows of our small succulents, sitting atop the white marble windowsill, showed off their newfound growth that was shown in the form of pastel pink and baby blue flowers freckled with tiny yellow spots that replaced the annoying spines that stuck out of them from when we had first bought them in Kingston. This was the beautiful result of them having been watered two weeks prior to this golden morning. They were not alone, however. Their peace was being disturbed by a slim, four-legged feline whose lean figure sat next to the little cute pots of emerald with her wide eyes of the same hue trained on me. Her head tilted to the right.

"Good Morning, Salem." My rasped words must've been an invitation because she had leaped from her resting place onto the queen sized bed that was decked out in dark blue satin sheets with a matching duvet, purring at the sound of my voice while curling into a ball on the bare pillow, once occupied by my daughter, with her fox like ears flicking backwards once resting her head upon this newfound place of comfort. Salem was a Devon Rex or, in other words, a Sphinx with fur. Salem possessed every physical trait of a sphinx that dealt with the wrinkles, triangular face, and slim figure as well as those big ass bat ears that could hear the sound of a pen drop within miles away from here. Only thing that separated her from them and made her out to be the breed she is was that slightly curled, thin layer of ebony fur that covered every aspect of her lean physique along with her behavior. I could only describe it in three words: Sweet. Curious. And extremely promiscuous. She'd be out for two days on end, coming back with three other little friends that she's met following behind her. One time she had gotten so caught up in her little wannabe stray cat life that she had two of her little boyfriends fighting while she sat at the window, watching it happen. She's toned it down a bit since then, but still likes to go outside once in awhile.

She's only stayed here this long because Amanci loves her, not because she's cute.

That's when the thought had come to me to check on Amanci since her partner in crime was coming where she wasn't asked to.

With a newfound surge of energy, I rose up from the warmth of my mattress as my legs carried me to the coolness of the vast yet small hallway where I found the door to her room open wide enough for me to peek my head in to witness her sound asleep in her purple princess bed with a pink canopy surrounding her and the stuffed animals that laid around her. Inching towards the bed I noticed that she wore the tiara that she had on all day yesterday to match with her dangling earrings and a little pink night gown to complete here look. She was just too cute as she laid there sound asleep, eyelids twitching once in awhile as her dainty fingers caressed the fabric of Pooh bear's shirt.
