oh, we're in love aren't we?

Summary: The best part of the day is, and will always be, coming back home. This, Mark concludes, as the warmth of Donghyuck's back seeps into him, is home.

Note:
Well I found love in the inside
The arms of a (wo)man I know
(S)he is the lighthouse in the night that will safely guide me home
And I'm not scared of passing over
Or the thought of growing old
'Cause from now until I go

Donghyuck snaps from dozing off when hears the door of their apartment swing open and click into a close. A swift glance at the clock tells him that it was way too early for his housemate to be home. Alarmed, he tiptoes his way to the doorstep as cautiously as he could (forgetting to grab something for self-defense on the way), only to see said housemate now taking off his shoes by their doorstep.

"What, didn't hear me punching the passcode in? " the man looks like he's supressing a laugh, "you totally look like you're scared for your life yet ready to pull a Bruce Lee!" the contained laughter escapes the man's lips as Donghyuck stood there watching him, still dumbfounded and slightly flustered, waiting patiently as he watches him putting his shoes away, still letting out remnants of the full-blown laughter.

The man then opens his arms wide, smiling warmly. Donghyuck wasted no time and flung himself immediately at the awaiting arms, hugging tightly.

"You didn't tell me you'd be getting off work early," Donghyuck mumbled, nuzzling on the man's nape and enjoying the tight hold around his waist.

"Thought you'd like a little suprise, babe," and maybe he felt the heat that rose to Donghyuck's cheeks that he chuckled again and nuzzled on his head back. He definitely knows that Donghyuck's weak when it comes to pet names, using it as his advantage in times when they fight or when they're softly intimate like this.

"Mark," Donghyuck whines, latching himself off of said male and looks up at him, pouting. Because he, too, definitely knows that Mark is weak against his pouts. Mark's groan and the tightening hold of the arms against his waist confirms it, moreover the soft lips against his the second after.

Times like this aren't a rarity to them, but it doesn't happen as frequently as to not indulge in, since Mark almost always gets home late upon his promotion, mostly finding a dozed-off Donghyuck on the couch, unmistakably attempting to wait for him to come home.

Mark's heart swells on the small mundane memory, and he kisses Donghyuck with a bit more fervor, trying to convey words he's always got little to no time to say into that kiss.

Donghyuck bathes in it all, understands Mark through his actions, and he, too, tries to make the otber feel that he is loved just a much, if not more, as he is. That he, too, holds a big part of Donghyuck's entirety.

Both of them knows, could feel it in each other, oh, we're in love, aren't we?

Later on that night, after dinner and washing up, invading every single space available on their couch, and shutting all the lights for the moonlight to stream freely through the windows, Mark weaves his hand through the younger's soft locks, listens to the faint sounds of Donghyuck's breathing, and feels the rise and fall of his back against his chest.

This, Mark concludes, as the warmth of Donghyuck's back seeps into him, is home.

He feels a hand twining with his, rings brushing past each other, and he tightens the hold on the hand, raising it so he could press a kiss against the metal band around Donghyuck's finger.

"I love you," he hears Donghyuck say, barely above a whisper, holding the serenity of the moment, and Mark's heart swells with said feeling, wondering how could he receive even more love than he already have, wondering how blessed he was to have this man to accompany him for life.

"I love you, too," he whispers back. Feeling as though it wasn't enough still, he adds, with a baby kiss on the crown of the younger's head, "thank you for having me and saying yes to spending the rest of our days together."

Donghyuck shifts to face him, looks up to him with those orbs reflecting joy and contentment, his lovely honeyed skin highlighted by the moonlight, making him seem to glow even more. The smile that softly spread upon his features, and the silent promises that it held.
