Unhealed [Calico Cat Hybrid]

2: One/old friend

The 4 of you stand in front of the old man, as he searches the filing cabinet for each hybrids’ personally files. 

“So… Jeon Jungkook, you’re getting adopted?” the old man speaks, his voice strong and deep, full of something you can only describe as wisdom.

Jungkook smiles at the old man. “Yes sir, Megan noona and Yoongi hyung are adopting me and Jieun” he chirps happily.

“Good, good” the old man murmurs as he pulls out a thin folder form the filing cabinet.

“Megan” the old man turns his attention to the girl. “You’re such a sweet child, always caring about others, before yourself. Your boyfriend is a lucky man.”

You try not to giggle at Yoongi’s huge gummy smile as he pulls Megan into a back hug and kisses her neck “I know I am” the male tells the old man.

Chuckling at Yoongi’s reply the old man takes out another file, hands it to Megan and turns to you

“Now, my dear which hybrid do you what to give a loving home?”

You remember the beautiful name Lisa spoke with so much malice. 

“Park Jimin” the way the name rolls of your tongue feels so perfect.

The old man’s face falls at your reply. He visibly swallows. A few seconds pass be for he can speak “boy or girl?”

“Boy” you reply, confused at his actions.

Your answer doesn’t help the old man’s discomfort; in fact he looks more stressed now.

Fingers trembling, the old man takes out another file this now significantly thicker than the others.

Instead of handing it to you, he places it on the counter between you.

Tapping his pointer fingers, the old man speaks “Park Jimin, a calico cat hybrid” he looks to you for confirmation and you nod. 

“My dear, are you sure you want this hybrid?” 

You raise an eyebrow in confusion “yes sir, I am sure. Why wouldn’t I be?”

The old man sighs sadly “Jimin came to this shelter after he was confiscated from this abusive owner.” 

It feels as if something is clawing at your heart, after what you read about hybrids, his fear, his distance, his caution now makes since. You thought that was all but to you horror the old man continues 

“He was not even here for a week when people started adopting him, but they all brought him back. If you bring back a hybrid you have to write a complaint, that’s why his file is so thick, it’s full of their complaints. Please miss; please don’t give up on him. He has had such a hard start to his life, he deserves so much and yet he gets so little. Please show him the beautiful side of life, show him that he is worth living for.”
