After playing dead for most part of the day my appetite comes back to life and my stomach rumbles.

I make my way to the kitchen in hopes of stopping battle cry my stomach seems to be singing really well.

My mum sitting at the counter with her glasses perched up on her nose as she furiously types away on her phone before she glances up at me. Her eyes softening. I try to smile but nothing happens so I just walk to the fridge."Where's Emma?"She asks dropping her phone on the counter. "She left a while ago" I respond, weighing the options infront of me.

I can feel her eyes on me, studying me like some experiment. "She told me what happened.I'm sorry sweety,I always knew that boy was no good" she says and I just sigh eyeing the ice cream but deciding against it cause of my throat. I decided to make a sandwich instead but then realize it's also a terrible choice. I sigh louder and shut the fridge.

"I could make you something to eat, what would you like" she asks. " Anything is good mum"I answer shrugging.

"You sound horrible"she says and I roll my eyes. "How about chicken soup. I could put in extra mushrooms and diced up sausages just how you like it"she says trying to cheer me up,a warm smile plastered on her face. " Thanks mum" I say as she makes her way to the fridge.

I couldn't help the drool forming at my mouth as we prepared chicken soup. I didn't realize how hungry I was. After dicing sausages my mum kicked me out of the kitchen after making a joke about my drool being more than the soup. I just scowled and took my half dead self to the sofa.

I feel a hand jolts me awake. "It's ready sweety" when did I fall asleep. My phone on the floor. It must have slipped from my hand. I pick up,the screen comes to life to display my wallpaper,a picture of me and Mason  at a lake. Our last real date,he practically kidnapped me and shoved me in his car with blind folds on and when he took it off I couldn't close my mouth,my jaw was at the floor. It was night time but the stars and surrounding lights made it way better. It was so beautiful.

I smile at the memory then it dawns on me. I turn off my phone, making my way to the dining.

Everything has already been set up except for cups that mum just walking with. I sit down to my bowl of soup and mumble a thank you as she pours me juice.

Once I have a taste of soup,I could feel my insides melt as I close my eyes barely stopping myself from moaning .

I can feel my mum's eyes on me. She probably has a ton of questions in her head waiting to burst out. So I decide to put her out of her misery. "Yes mum?" I ask I shoving another spoon full of soup in my mouth, savouring the taste. It's so good.

"Uhm since you don't  seem to want to talk about Mason,I was hoping we could talk about your cousin's offer" My cousin Ashley was the one inviting me to come over. She used to school here to until she decided to move and leave us all here. And now I guess it's my turn.

"So? Are you going?" She says her eyes glued to me. Reluctantly,I drop my spoon. "Yes mum,I'm going" I answer. "Oh" she says her eyes falling before regaining her composure. "Don't get me wrong sweety, I want you to do this,I'm just really going to miss you" she says tears welling up at her eyes.

"Oh mum" I move to pull her into a hug. "I'll miss you too mum. Besides, this just gives you a chance to practice video chatting" I say with a barely visible smile on my lips and she laughs.

I return to my soup still feeling my mum's eyes on me. Which makes me smile "keep looking at me like that and I'd leave right now" I joke and she quickly turns to her bowl laughing.

That was the  first moment I found some ounce of relief.

Staying in the house all day got a  bit suffocating. I just kept on ending up staring at old pics and videos. Realizing I wasn't doing myself any good I grabbed my pods and sneakers and came out for a walk.
