Two weeks later, the Friday of Elijah's prom had arrived. Everything was getting setup at Talia's house for his send off.
He actually got the girl he liked, Naomi to agree to go to prom with him. Kionni, who was a licensed cosmetologist had offered to do Naomi's hair and makeup for prom, and she graciously accepted. They girls were all currently in the room, making sure everything was in place for when Naomi had to step into her dress.
She was wearing an emerald green dress that was fitted perfectly to her body with a slit going up her right thigh , long sleeved and sheer in certain places. It showcased her shape perfectly, but was still very elegant on her. She donned silver stiletto heels, and simple silver studs in her ears. Her face was done very subtly with a hint of the green in her dress in her eye look. She wore sheer lipgloss with a bit of brown lip liner, and a swipe of highlight on her cheekbones.
"You look so beautiful, boo!" Morgan exclaimed, giving her a quick hug.
"You think so?" Naomi asked, flipping bouncy curled wig over her shoulder. Kionni had installed a pretty side parted jet black wig for Naomi. The curls were big and voluminous, framing her baby face beautifully. "I hope he likes it..." she spoke nervously, running her hands down her side.
"Babygirl, you could come downstairs in a t-shirt and some shorts and he'd still be thirsty over you," Talia spoke, standing up from her place on the bed. They've all been getting ready for a few hours, and they were pretty sure the whole neighborhood was outside waiting to see Boog off to his senior prom. Talia only lived a street or two over from her own home, and the neighborhood had watched all of the kids grow up, so this was an occasion to celebrate.
"Okay ladies, we ready? I'll go inform everyone you're coming down!" Kiki said excitedly, running down the hall toward the stairs.
No less than 5 minutes later, Beyoncé's Formation began blasting through the speakers, per request of Naomi, and she smiled a little, ready to make her grand entrance. Talia and Morgan followed behind her as she made her way out, making sure her dress wasn't getting caught on anything on the way. Once she made it to the wide open front door, there were whistles, cheers and lots of hyping going on.
Morgan saw her brother, completely stuck and enamored by his date, caught off guard by her presence. His bottom lip was tucked in between his teeth as he made his way over to her after all her individual shots were taken so that they could get some together.
Inadvertently, Morgan teared up at seeing her little brother getting ready to head off to his prom, knowing his graduation was soon after, and he'd be off to college. He'd gotten offers from schools all over Texas, but only A&M offered him a full ride football scholarship which he would be taking while majoring in engineering and minoring in architecture.
"Nuni! C'mere I want us to take pictures," Elijah called to his sister, making her quickly wipe her eyes and head over to him. She first posed with the couple and then took individual shots with her little brother that she'd be sure to post on every social media platform she had access to.
