Let's Go Back

"Can you stop please?" Octavia asked as Clarke paced the room back and forth.
"I need to get her back O. You heard what Alie said! Lexa was the key to save everything. Whether she knew it or not she was the answer." Clarke wipes the tears that escaped her eyes angrily and walked toward the bed she once shared with her lover. She had been analyzing everything bit by bit and yelled at her self for walking out of that room at the time that she did. Wondering how everything had changed since Lexa left and how easily everything began to fall apart. Due to that and adding on the recent message she had received Clarke had fought against the urge to do anything but come up with possibilities to save the planet they currently inhabited and sadly they all led back to her. She was the key and she's gone.
"I understand that Clarke. Raven is on her way with everything we need. She frantically said she had the answer to what I'm not sure." Octavia replied walking over to her friend and gently placing a hand on her shoulder.
"She's been working with the guys on the truck they should be here any minute. Why don't you get some rest and I will come get you when they fill me in on what's going on?" Octavia asked gently. There was no point in trying to convince the blonde to sleep anywhere other that Lexa's room. Nodding defeated Clarke worked her way into the sheets and clinged to them allowing the exhaustion to consume her. Once Octavia made sure the blonde was well on her way to sleep she shut the door gently and walked over to what was Clarke's old room. Sitting on the edge of the bed she grabbed the radio.
"Hey Raven? Are you almost here?" Waiting for the sound of static to disappear Octavia stared at the radio intently as if her intense gaze would make Raven respond.
"Raven do you copy?" Sighing at the lack of response Octavia walked towards the window observing the lack of life and the streets who were once full of people. Although she did not know the commander well she understood how much she meant to Clarke and after what they had been through and overcome her heart broke for her friend who was close to becoming a shell of a person. She noticed the toll the loss of the commander took on everyone who surrounded her infact. Particularly Indra, although the woman's face alway remained stoic she did not hide the hurt she felt for loosing Lexa.
"He- Oct- do you hea-" Jumping at the sudden noise Octavia wiped the tear that slipped down her cheek and hurried towards the radio.
"Hey Rey I hear you but it's cutting of"
"Can you her me now?"
"Yes much better."
"Okay listen I just got word and Abby, Kane, Lincoln, and your brother are headed back to Polis. I think Indra should be there now."
"Yea she's somewhere in the tower."
"Okay we're about 30 minutes away. We found the answer O! It's the flame! Alie gave us the answer now we just need to find a way to finalize it."
"I know Raven it's Lexa but how can we possibly do that."
"It's deeper than that and if I explain it over the this you're going to think I'm crazy. So just advise everyone to meet in the summit room but don't tell Clarke, at least not yet."
"I won't. She just fell asleep which is a miracle on its own."
"Okay good"

"Why are we here Reyes" Murphy asked crossing his arms curious as to what the emergency meeting was. An old map hung on the wall with the name of the region too faint to read.
"We're here to discuss what must be done in order to reverse Alie's threat on destroying the planet. Ryder and I have been analyzing the possibilities and with the new technology we got from mount weather as well as from Thelonious we have discovered that it will be possible. However, it will have to be quick."
"Okay come on Raven just spit it out." Octavia said walking further into the room and joined Lincoln's side.
"Okay. Okay." Flipping the map and revealing a series of equations and instructions as well as a human anatomy with connecting instructions to it as well.
"We all don't speak nerd Reyes." Murphy spoke with a furrowed brow.
"Time travel." Monty said observing the instructions presented in front of the group.
"Time travel? Are you seriously holding this meeting to present time travel as an option?" Indra asked her tone angry at what was presented.
"Listen okay I know it sounds crazy but we can do this. Ryder worked on the human survival statistics and I worked on the travel aspect and we have what we need to do this." Raven replied confident in her discovery although her peers looked at her as if she was a joke.
"You really expect us to believe this Raven? We need an actual idea not just some imagination. This is literally a death or death situation at this point." Murphy said throwing his arms up.
"Come on Murphy that's just like grounders not believing that we lived in outer space for thousands of years. The technology we have is advanced!" Raven replied annoyed yet understood where everyone's doubt came from.
"So what do you suggest Raven? That we time travel back to get Lexa?" Marcus asked looking at her with confusion.
"Not exactly. You see Lexa was part of this time period. She can't be brought back because of how recent it has been since she's passed and the fact that she's technically still in the flame. I won't go into the scientific route of this but, judging from what we found in Alie there's a version of Lexa in the past that isn't exactly Lexa." Flipping the diagram over and revealing the map again Raven pointed to a spot on the map.
"Tracing back I was able to find Lexa's essential doppelgänger. But here's the kick, they were actually related. Essentially they are the same person only this version of Lexa is living through the first apocalypse..." Looking around the room there was pure silence. Many contemplating whether to believe the girl in front of them. Although many were not 100 percent sure this was the only idea any of them had heard that aided to the halt of Alies possible destruction of the world as they know it.
Shifting uncomfortably at the silence Octavia shook her head
"So how do we attempt to go about this?" she asked trying to end the glares that were being directed towards Raven.
"Well I'm glad you asked! Octavia and I will travel. Although ancestor Lexa isn't the only one we will be going back for." Raising her eyebrows in question Octavia silently asked Raven to go on.
"Anya. Clarke mentioned Lexa was Anya's second. We're also going back for Gustus. Although he almost got me killed, he was important to Lexa and that might aide in helping her remember." Raven responded.
"Wait so in bringing back this Lexa she's going to remember everything?" Roan asked confused.
"Not exactly, this Lexa that's not really Lexa will have to take the flame."
"What if she's not a nightblood?" Indra asked sounding annoyed she was even contributing to this discussion.
"She will Indra. She was named in a chart Alie had herself. There's no possible way that she won't." Raven replied confidently.
"Let's say your calculations have all come back in your favor. How can you assure that you and Octavia will be able to travel safely?" Abby asked curiously.
"Well according to some records we have there's some mentions of an anomaly. Essentially it can be used to travel to the future as well as the past, although it can be painful Ryder has been helping in making sure our bodies are capable of going through it without a fatality. We have everything that we need with us but it will take a day to set things up. We've charted one of the openings that should be right behind the tower" Raven responded
"Where the nightbloods trained?" Indra asked. "Possibly" Raven responded receiving nods from everyone in the room including Murphy.
"So what do you want us to do?" Bellamy asked pushing himself off the wall he was leaning on.
"I need you and Murphy to go back to Arkadia and bring me back a generator just in case the one we have blows. Everyone else will have a important roll but we will discuss more later on." Raven concluded as people dispersed. Looking around the room Abby could not find her daughter and walked towards Octavia.
"Where's Clarke?"
"She's sleeping Abby. First time in a couple of days." Octavia replied giving the mother a sympathetic smile.
Nodding Abby began to walk towards where she imagined Clarke would be but was stopped by Ryder and Raven.
"Hey Abby do you think you can help us with some details on this?" Ryder asked holding some charts.
"Go ahead Abby I'll go check on Clarke. I told her I'd fill her in anyway." Octavia reassured the doctor. Nodding Abby directed her attention to the papers while Octavia made her way towards Clarke followed closely by Indra.
" I don't know how she's gonna take this information." Octavia sighed and halted her walk.
Turning Indra pondered on her response.
"How do I tell her what we just heard? How do I explain that there's a possibility that we could bring Lexa back to her but it won't be Lexa at first? If this doesn't work it's going to finish destroying her... she hasn't even been able to mourn Lexa now she will be hit with this." Octavia said nervously.
"Clarke is strong." Indra responded and waited for Octavias gaze then continued.
"She has shown it time and time again and I see now why Heda was so drawn to her. She shows no sign of weakness. She will be able to handle this." Indra concluded and continued walking with a shocked Octavia right behind her due to Indras mention of saying something nice about Clarke as well as the mention of Lexa since she hadn't spoken about her since Lexa passed. Standing outside of the door of Lexa's room Indra nodded as Octavia passed her to go inside. Sighing as soon as she walked in to find Clarke sitting on the couch in the entrance of the room.
"What did Raven have to say?" Clarke asked, her voice low due to her recent slumber.
"She might have found an answer to this but, it's out there. I mean I trust Raven but I don't want this to give you much hope." Octavia responded carefully.
"Try me" Clarke responded desperate to hear anything that might help.
"Well there might be a way to go back" Octavia said calmly looking down at her palms.
"The anomaly is what Raven said. It's supposed to be able to take us back in the past and bring-"
"Please tell me you're joking." Clarke said her tone defeated.
"I know Clarke I know how this sounds trust me. But Indra says this thing is talked about through the clans and it's the only thing that might show some promise."
"So what Raven basically said is traveling back to get Lexa?"
"Not precisely." Octavia responded shaking her head.
"A version Lexa not Lexa specifically. Lexa can't be brought back because she is technically still in the flame. But, her doppelgänger can and Raven said they would be able to take the flame and essentially-"
"Lexa can live on through them." Clarke concluded.
"Exactly" Octavia said watching her friends face in deep thought as if analyzing all of the information she just received and determining its possibilities of success. Although it was a long shot Clarke was glad she had some new information to analyze despite how ridiculous it sounded.
